    Small L or Big B?

B's are great little tractors, my 2410 will do absolutely everything above ground well and some sub soil well too, a perfect complement to my new l3800

    Landscape Rake Utility

Just looked at the rake your link went to, it would not need lateral supports added because the tines are secured through the frame. Good thing is if you bend a tine badly, and it happens, you have a lot of replacements:)

    Landscape Rake Utility

I've been using my landscape rake for exactly what you wanting to do with it for years. I do a lot of clearing, and brushing, but I had to modify the rake a bit to make it work right. I removed every other tine, it lets the small debris get through which is fine. All that small stuff, pine...

    Tires and Rims, WTF???

I just put two of the ones lsmurphy suggested on my B2410 last month and they are tough, you will not blow these out...

    Wisdom && Guideance L3800HST/MX4700HST

........Does anyone have any idea of the price of a L3800 HST loader and backhoe would be? I just picked up a L3800 HST 4x4 with the 524 loader, QA front bucket, ballasted r4 tires, and the 77 backhoe and it came to $31,700 paper dollars at 0% financing for 60 months:) No real deals in the...

Basic / Generic Box Blade Advice Needed

Yes, go with the 4-4.5 foot model. Just for comparison, I'm putting a Land Pride BB2566 (...66"er'...) on my new L3800 with ballasted R4 tires. I'll probably even have to fill the front bucket for traction if I get into some tough ground. Box scrapers can pull you to a dead stop when loaded...

    B3200

bearbait, you're going to like the B3200/front blower combo for sure. I blew snow in Haines, AK for 255 hrs. over a 3 year period on my B2410 and never needed more power, or at least I thought. I ran the 60" blower on the front and a 6' blade on the back, the comfort of sitting forward...

On the fence over more power

Ahhhhh, ,,didn't know I was complaining, being well versed in snow removal after living in snow mecca Alaska for 14 yrs., I always prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

On the fence over more power

Yes indeed, upright is good! Drilled 44 holes yesterday with it, going to do 110 holes today. Can you imaging how bad off you would be if you used a hand post hole digger. I'm 46 years old, my wrists, elbows and shoulders would fall off if I attempted that by hand. Even if it takes me...

    Back to School

Dang, that's one of those din't have to happen things, if it were only done right. Good on ya for having the skills to break it down and get it on the mend. Just watch out for big daddy govt. knowing you did work for yourself on your own property saving monies and such working to get ahead...

New 2014 Standard L Series Tractors

I hear 'ya, I'm in line to buy one right now and feel like I'm getting the one of last of the 1997 Dodge/Cummins before they buggered it up unnecessarily. Only the speed at which these things are going to change for the worse will be much faster than what the light diesel truck segment went...

On the fence over more power

Thanks for the replies folks and pushing me in that direction. A few days ago I cut a tentative deal for a L3800 hst. with r4 tires ballasted. It's got the quick connect bucket so putting on a front blade in the winter will be a snap, blower in the rear, now watch...,,,.no snow this year. The...

    Whining

Why bother, it because your SELFISH, lemme, explain. The one hit wonders, the unanswerable questioniers, the ragamuffins who only come to complain when their mighty Orange just preformed outrageous stunts and probably failed because of some operator error of some sort.....yada yada, you've...

On the fence over more power

Hello all, I'm new here but have lurked for some time. I've had my B2410hsd since Dec. 1999. Got her new and just turned 550hrs. on it this past week. Some of my tasks are mounting up and I'm starting to think of an L3800 being a better match for my needs. 75% of the time , the B2410 can...

Rate Rotary Cutter Brands - Quality vs Price

I use a Land Pride RC1548, can't say enough good things about it. I mow 2" trees with it all the time, you will not bend these blades. The gearbox has a 5 year warrantee. I've only popped 3 sheer pins in four years of use with it. Mine was $1150 in '09, you get what you pay for. Pics...

    New to tractors

Hi Doug, Paul here. Just moved from Corvallis actually, spent the last five years doing battle with a clearcut out Oak Creek Rd. on Chaparral. Yes, your bx could probably run a plough through the Willamette Valley clay, but if it's that clayey',,,,then you probably don't want to disturb too...

    Back to School

Nice price, looks like there are 2k worth of tires and wheels there alone! The early chill we're having has me scrambling to get in my newer shop and tear into all the unseen damage I might have caused trashing about this year.

    Landscape rake?

I don't know about busting up heavy crust, but I run my rake with every other tine removed with a truck tire strapped on top of it with (sometimes), a tube sand bag inside the tire for more weight. Granted, my rake doesn't look the same as new anymore, little bend here....there, but it's paid...

    bx25...rear blade size

The blade will start ice skating in whatever direction it's pointed if the tractor doesn't out weigh it and/or grip it. I've had good luck with weighted R1 tires and chains, ATV studs to boot. Helps to get a bucket full of something heavy upfront so you don't spin with the blade pulling you...
