Another issue is tongue weight. The flat drawbar can take a tremendous amount of pulling force, but due to its structural shape, can't tolerate a high force in the vertical direction.

Does your gear drive tractor have a foot clutch? If it does, you can set the throttle to PTO speed, and use the foot clutch to ease through those precise maneuvers.

Problematic for Ailanthus?? That's like being upset about a bug that devours crabgrass or ground ivy. The world would be a better place if every ailanthus tree disappeared. Talk about an invasive species!!
