Why in the heck would you weld it? Just put a bolt through the hole with a lock nut, like everyone else has done. FYI: The welded gear has a different collar design. Welding that one could very well interfere with the bearings.

A magnetic heater would do squat for you, the housing is aluminum! A silicone heater will help a little but it's hard to find enough flat to attach it. What Hydraulic fluid are you using? When was the last time you changed fluid and filters?

I want a hydrogen / diesel engine pickup truck, that is powering a generator, that is powering the electric drive system on the truck. Yes I just explained a hybrid train (Locomotive), or a giant mine truck. It would be feasible to get 2,000hp and 60,000lbs of torque out of them. :p

There are a 100 difernt factors that effect eficency of an EV. Heating systems on most EV's, what you so called super efficient electric heat, well isn't very efficient! I'll bet they have the vehicle set to keep the temp in the vehicle warm all the time. The drive system doesn't care too...

The HST doesn't care about applying reverse force. But then again the brakes don't care if they are being used. It's very rare to see HST damage or Brake damage from normal use.
