Stalling tractor when using posthole digger

Steve Sounds as if you need to turn rate of drop screw in a some so 3pt is slower to lower. Also if not already doing so lower engine rpm's to about 1200 rpms & raise/lower auger more frequently while attempting to dig a hole.

    M7060 Air in water separator

I once owned a Kubota M4900 that the engine acted similar. On advice of local Kubota dealer service manager I located a tiny screen that was clogged in fuel control valve in water separator housing. I cleaned that screen & water separator bowl began filling with fuel & engine began to operate...

    PTO Clutch?

It has been my experience in 60 yrs of being associated with repairing farm equipment that correct/regular servicing of a slip clutch is often overlooked/neglected. A neglected/stuck slip clutch has the same affect as no slip clutch or incorrect grade shear bolt.

    PTO Clutch?

All pto operated machines need some type of overload protection on their drivelines/gearboxes. Protection can be in the form of a shear bolt/pin or functioning slip clutch. Built in clutch on tractors I think you might be referring to is an over-running clutch which allows implement pto shaft...

    M9960D 4speed transmission rebuild labor time ?

I agree with PoTreeBoy in that a M9960 tech manual(WSM) will be my first acquisition. Do you know what caused the need for transmission repair? It appears from viewing M9960 parts catalog that repair of trans could require a double split between engine & clutch housing then between clutch...

    M9960D 4speed transmission rebuild labor time ?

I served as a JD dealer service manager from '74-'87. I regularly used a JD flat rate labor manual when determining repair costs for repairing components that I was unfamiliar with or submitting for labor reimbursements for JD warranty repairs. $8000 @ $180?? per hour shop rate is 44.4 hours...

    M6800 AIR CONDITIONING

Pressure switch I located on M6800 was on line attached to evaporater which I don't see a Schrader valve listed in parts schematics. https://www.messicks.com/catalogs/kubota/m6800sdt-cab/air-conditioner/p15504-condenser-a-cab-type-old-type-s-no-63130-to-65762-s-no-63130-to-65762

    Non Functioning Draft

I'm curious what ground engaging implements do you normally use that require use of draft control? One would think dealer technician could get 3pt draft operating correctly.

    M9540 Air conditioning problem.

Install a manual heater hose control valve & be sure it's closed. Make sure exterior of radiator, condenser & evaporator are very clean so air can flow through exterior of each of each component. Have you checked with AP air for a compressor?

    Weak air conditioning

No way I will add refrigerant without monitoring both high & low gauges. A little too much refrigerant causes poor cooling similar to not enough refrigerant.

Thank you for posting your photos more especially of the broken spring.

    M7040 hydraulic shuttle problems,

Congratulations on your successful repair. Could you please post a photo of your tractors shuttle valve & broken spring?

    Weak air conditioning

If that tractor was under my supervision & it had a very clean exterior of radiator, condenser, evaporator & cab filters I'd add more refrigerant to get pressure up to match chart shown below for your current ambient temperature. With 80°F ambient temp your tractors AC system high pressure...

    M7040 hydraulic shuttle problems,

I tend to think the clutch control, shuttle control or modulation valve is at fault. I'll be monitoring your thread due to my owning a '11 M7040 HDC tractor with 2000 hrs on speed/hr meter that so far has performed very well.

    Post-Clutch Replacement Issues

I agree with Fedup. on clutch mechanism needing some free travel. 1''-1-1/2'' clutch pedal free travel is normal. 3'' free travel of clutch pedal could cause clutch to not completely release. Bent or warped clutch plate could cause non release clutch problems

    Post-Clutch Replacement Issues

How much free travel does clutch control mechanism/pedal have?

    M7040 3pt

My guess is if 3pt raises higher when draft control lever is moved rearward after 3 pt control lever has been moved fully rearward is that feedback rod is not adjusted per specifications. My understanding concerning draft control lever is draft lever should be set so plow raises/lowers...

Hydraulics are too fast, or Im too slow

Several yrs ago while handling rd bales with a Kubota M4900 with Kubota FEL I added an adjustable hyd flow control valve so boom wouldn't lower so fast with a 4X5.5 rd bale on bale spears. A similar adjustable type flow control valve could be added to bucket circuit.

M7060 - 3-Point Hitch control lever at the rear of tractor.

Evidently you do not utilize the feature of the built in extendable draft link where one can extend & raise ball when attaching implements to 3pt hitch??
