I've done a lot of gas welding and brazing and from what I see the flame he's using the mixture is way off. Can remember what adjusting is needed, but that flame is way to long, that's why it's taking him so long to heat the metal up. At least I know what knobs to turn to get the small blue...

Maybe my vision is bad, but I don't think the rod his brazing with isn't even coated. RTV to lock bolts...........heck yeah.

Nothing like RTV to take the place of "O" rings.

Can you explain how you get a new section to come up, and then get it mounted on the previous section?

You can stop the exhaust leak by putting a small amount of red RTV on both sides of the gasket. That's what I did years ago and still no leaks. Also I might be wrong, but I think the nut you took off is where you adjust the "slop" in the steering box.
