    Small engine trouble

When you finally get it fixed, no matter if you R&R the current carburetor or replace it, stop using ethanol. That crap is the source of most small engine fuel related issues. The other thing to do is make sure that you turn off the fuel and let the fuel run out of the carburetor before putting...

    Kubota udt alternative

As long as it meets the specifications that Kubota requires it is good to go. I use super Tech from Walmart. I have been using it for several years and it is quieter than Kubota's Super UDT. I know that some on here will not like what I just wrote so I expect to get flamed. As the Fantastic...

    An Interesting Approach

I don't see any way that could work in a turn, even a shallow one, unless you raise the 3pt. This is just not practical on any level. This must be a staged joke or someone is drinking too much.

    Things are looking up !

Regular gas here today is $4.299 and Diesel is $4.799. It is a little cheaper at the ARCO station in the city though. One thing keeping our prices so high is this state has a carbon tax added which is about $.60 to $1.00 per gallon, depending on certain conditions that no one has specified. That...

How long did your battery last?

I know about the reliability of the Optima line of batteries but when I went to buy one for my Jeep, I got sticker shock. I figured that I was planning on replacing the Jeep in a couple years so I went with a battery from O'Reilly Auto Parts. If I planned to keep that Jeep longer I might have...

How long did your battery last?

It seems that the batteries Kubota was using at the time we bought our tractors were very good quality. I don't know what manufacturer they were using back then but I hope they are the same one when I have to replace mine. If they are not, I will search out one made by Johnson Controls. They...

    Honor your father and mother

So cool! It is a very rare thing for this to happen. Although I have flown many times with my son, I never got to fly in a military helicopter with my son, I did take a "flight" in the AH1D Apache simulator with him as his co-pilot Gunner. The simulation that we flew was an engagement in Iraq...

How long did your battery last?

I have a BX1860 that I bought new in March of 2013. I am still on the original battery. I have read several posts through the years about batteries failing in as little as 3 years. The battery in mine is more than 12 years old and still going strong. I do not keep it on a battery maintainer or...

How do you save searches and have CL email you? I cannot see any way to do that. Please elaborate.

    Ballast weights

I got all of my weights for free by searching CL. That was about 10 years ago though. It is getting much harder to find barbell weights for free these days. They can still be found for about $1 per pound around here. Here is a sample of what can be found around here...

    Ballast weights

Here are two cheap ideas for ballast. The barbell weights are on my BX1860 and the keg filled with sand is on my neighbor's BX2350. Both are about 250 lbs as shown. Since I took this picture I have replaced some of the weights with heavier ones.

    Changing Tires on Tandem Trailer

I have the same tire ramp that is the first one shown. I have had to use it a few times in the last 20 years. It worked perfectly with both of my travel trailers. Both trailers have sprung axles.

    BX guys

I had the same problem with the 'ears' breaking so I just removed the plastic cowling altogether. I have been running it that way for several years now.

Kubota diesel buggy/ go cart/ lawn mower swap

If you use a geared transmission you could put whatever rear end gearing you want in it. The engine torque would be the more important determining factor on how fast you can go, not so much as how high the RPM of the engine is.

    Pulling up young cedars.

I used to use a chain wrapped around the base of the tree and hook up to the 3 point. Now I am going to use the way that @Marky showed.
