    Trailer advice for BX

I agree a double axel can be better. Take it from my son who has an old double axle trailer and was picking up a new to his brother L4150 for him. They had to take it about 50 miles to his brothers home from where he bought. Everything went well for about half of the trip and they decided to...

    BX5450 Snowthrower (w/pics)

I have a BX1860 with a BX2750d blower. It looks very similar to your except it has a hydraulic chute rotation and I added an electric hood actuator. It has a lot of play in it as well. Maybe not quite as much as yours but if it was real tight it would freeze. It has frozen on me and would not...

    Gas in the Deisel

Yes. My VW manual said that we could add 10% gas to the diesel as well. I never did though. I added fuel conditioner instead and it did seem to work for reducing the where on the injector pump as well as fixing the gelling problem.

    is water safe for rims?

I would go for the tube with water in it and keep it away from the rims. Also automotive antifreeze is toxic and if and when it leaks out it is not very good.

    R1 Chains

My son built his weight square as he had wood and not a barrel. He put a pipe through so he could later put a bar through for the 3 pt hitch. He said it was easier to hook it on by having the bar loose. The top has anchor bolts that he will bolt a plate on to attach the top link. He put a...

    New to Front Loader

Yes. Good advice. My son got himself a L4150DT and while trying to do work on his large trailer by lifting it with the loader he got the back wheels of the tractor off the ground. He was in his garage on a smooth concrete floor so nothing serious happened. But it did scare him.

    BX Front mount Snowblower?

We had about 8-10 inches of snow with high winds yesterday. I have a 50" front blower and it works well. However all I did was touch the railroad tie in the front garden that was buried in snow and it broke an auger shear bolt. I replaced it with one that came with it and as soon as I was done...

Introducing Premium, Lifetime and Vendor Memberships!

I signed up for Lifetime as well. It did work very well indeed. I don't expect to be around in 100 years but one never know. I expect to have to do some major maintenance on the tractor to get it to last that long though:-) Stan

HST creeping when should be stopped

Good ideas. I will try looking at the manual and see what it says. I will also try greasing it again, but I have done this in the summer and it didn't seem to help. Just finished snowblowing the driveway and broke my first shear pin on the garden ties that I thought were farther away. Oh well...

HST creeping when should be stopped

Hi I have a BX1860 about 11 months old with about 80 hrs on it. It is a HST so has 2 pedals plus brake pedal. When using the forward pedal or the reverse pedal and only creeping up to something like hooking on trailer or whatever when I take my foot off the pedal it continues to creep on...

    2 cycle oil

Back in 1976 I was a mechanic at a Kawasaki motorcycle shop. We had a customer bring in a fairly new 100cc dirt bike ( 6 months old) that wouldn't start. In the 2 stroke oil tank (it had oil injection) they had put 4 cycle engine oil. I am not sure how long it ran but possibly a few tank fulls...

    BX1860 Broken engine fan blade

Has anyone ever replaced an engine fam on a BX1860. My son just broke mine by running over a tree stump. The front axle went over it and pushed it down and it sprang up under the middle of the tractor. Then when he backed up it drove up beside the output shaft and pushed in the fan shroud...

BX26 or 26 hydraulic valve type

I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for. Does the BX25 or 26 have a closed center or open center hydraulic valve for the front end loader? Stan

    Stupid Fence

An electric fencer would pulse the voltage to the line in order to not make anything lock onto it. It should also be certified to not have enough current to do real damage. The grounds rods are needed to connect one lead of the fencer to earth. I don't see that the lawnmower could have any...

    Snowblower on a BX1860

I just got a new BX1860 with front mount snowblower. It is the first ever tractor for me. The question I have is that why does the manual for it say.. IMPORTANT: To avoid damage to the drive kit components, do not raise or lower the snowblower while blowing snow. Always make this operation when...
