    g4200 engine into b5100d

They are asking 800.00 for this g4200, which is outside the cost to rebuild my motor, unless I need a full on rebuild. But if I could get it for 500 (doesent have a mowing deck so basically a yard ornament) I getting into the range where a swap would be reasonable. All of this is off the...

    g4200 engine into b5100d

Could the oil pans be swapped maybe? Do you think the bolt pattern to the frame is universal?

    g4200 engine into b5100d

What is says: My z500d is not a happy motor. THere is a g4200 for sale locally with what is claimed to be a good motor. I think it is a z483. Is there any way to figure out if that would be a direct bolt in to my b5100?

    b7100 needs tires

I have dual wheels on my b7100 and all four (ag tires) are rotten and nasty. (I dont even think one of them holds air anymore, but with the duals it still functions:)) So I did a little surfing and wonder: what about 245/70/16 truck tires? They can be had used for less than 200 dollars for...

Throwout Bearing Sleeve Seals on B7100

Thanks to Australia for being awake while I sleep! THe only time I post here is when I dont want to do something. (As in: do I have to...) This all started as a groaning clutch that turned out to be a disintegrated pilot bushing. I replaced both the propeller shaft seals and now I suppose...

Throwout Bearing Sleeve Seals on B7100

So does that mean I have to detach the transmission tunnel from the transmission to get at those snap rings?

Throwout Bearing Sleeve Seals on B7100

I'm doing the same repair down here across the border.... I want to replace the large seal that goes on the outside of the throwout bearing holder but cant get it over the propeller shaft without removing the propeller shaft from the tractor. I pulled the little cotter key and pin and got the...

    8x16 vs 7.5x16

These are Firestones and are mounted for 200 for the pair. Its a great deal but I'm running four tires on the rear. So after all that its a no go anyway.

    8x16 vs 7.5x16

I see some 7.5x16 ag tires for sale at a good price. My b7100 has 8x16 tires on it now. Will 7.5's be bad for the 4wd?

    bagger questions

I have a b5100 with a 48" mmm. I want to put a grass catcher of some kind on it. Teach me about over the shoulder baggers. Generic models are on CL all the time-- can I get one of them to pick up grass? What blows the grass into the box?

    Help with drag link assy

When I rebuilt my b7100 steering box I had to detach the drag link assy. I did that by sharp blows to the joint with a pair of hammers; it popped right off with no trouble. Reinstalling the drag link, I used a socket and a c-clamp to pull things together but I wondered at the time if it was...

    B8200 Steering Ball Nut Assembly

I believe so, but I will recheck this next time I have the tractor in the shop. I guess I was surprised to hear that a factory replacement might not be complete in this area.

    B8200 Steering Ball Nut Assembly

The numer of balls affects the steering play? (I just replaced my steering column, and sector gear, and was wondering why I had so much play in the steering. Should I be disassemling and counting the ball bearings?

    Wanting to lower ROPS

NOt enough info but heres an idea re a tennis ball: Hang it on the door if its a rollup so that when the door is up, the ball hangs down and hits the front of the tractor; so after the hood goes in, but before the driver is inside the building. I would use a paddle rather than a ball. Or...

    Another B7100

I immediately removed the cub cadet stickers, but I think it was a cub cadet 812 loader. The man was from Biddeford as I remember, had an excavating business with his father, and sold loaders on the side. I think its the color of yours that makes me think of Cadets.

Bypass the ignition switch for glow plugs

I just rewired a b5100. There isnt any fancy electronics here: it was a heavy gauge (black with red stripe) straight from the ignition to the first glow plug. THere is also a coil under the dashboard wired in parallel ( that was just black) that provides a visual clue as to the gp status...

    Frozen ballisted tires

Ive heard of tires freezing solid-- impossible to break the bead at that point. It was a disaster as I remember hearing. Id break the tires down and get the water out before it freezes solid. THeres a lot of pressure in ice expanding, and that sounds bad for the tire. THens theres the idea...
