    Crazy spring weather

This is the accumulation of this past storm. And it’s still snowing in the mountains where these amounts were measured. This was on tonight’s local news.

    Very sad day

My best friend and 35 year companion died today. My wife fought ALS for five years and was lively up until yesterday. She said she was tired, went to sleep yesterday evening, and passed today. I was able to have a priest give her last rites late last night and she was happy to see him. Going...

    April Fools

Yesterday it snowed all day, piling up 15”. Later this week the temperatures are supposed to be in the 70s. I decided to forgo shoveling and plowing and just let nature take it’s course.

    Fall was short this year

Summer lasted through mid-October, and the 2 1/2 weeks of fall weather was nice. Then winter showed up this week, with another 10-12” forecast for today, and more tonight.

    Fuel transport idea

I’m toying with the idea of getting one of these lightweight trailers to mount a diesel tank (< 50 gallons) and make for a mobile fueling station with a hand crank pump. It would be easy to hook up the trailer and haul to the fueling station, fill it and park it under a carport at home. No...

    Amazing new truck

Not saying I would buy one, but this is a new truck on the market with amazing features. I like the base 6 cylinder diesel engine option. The product video is long but highlights some pretty innovative features.

Lifting zero turn mower to remove blades?

How do you all do this? I’m not planning to buy a mower lift for a couple hundred dollars. Chain trolley from barn rafter? Tractor loader bucket? I’m looking for ideas instead of dropping the deck.

    June snow

Every year the June snow is here for a couple of weeks. Flying and drifting when the wind blows. Yes our native Rio Grande cottonwood is loaded again. Sure makes a mess on the porch and patios, but there’s no use in cleaning up until the cotton is gone from the tree.

Why so many pop up ads recently?

Ads are fine, but those that pop up and obscure what you are reading or typing are extremely annoying. The pop ups have become constant on this site.

    Hot engine

I spent several hours rotary cutting today. Towards the end of the day, the tractor started to overheat. I shut it down and immediately checked the radiator screen expecting it was clogged. It was not. I removed the air filter and found it dusty. After cleaning and reinstalling, the tractor ran...

    Liquid fertilizer in sprayer

I am thinking about getting a four gallon battery operated sprayer strictly to spray liquid water soluble fertilizer, such as Miracle Grow for garden and landscaping plants. Has anyone used a sprayer for this purpose? Does the fertilizer dissolve enough to avoid sprayer clogging?

    Lawnmower options

I have a small 50x100’ lawn that I mow with a push mower, but also acres of native grass that I mow several times a year. I mow most of the area with my tractor and 6’ rotary cutter, and use a small riding mower to mow tighter areas close to the house, around buildings and the orchard. My riding...

    Bought a new trailer

Found a good deal on a new 7x20’ trailer with a steel deck, dual 5.2K axles for a weighted load of 10.4K. $5900 including a spare tire, rear jacks, and slide out ramps. It will work for my needs.

    Magnetic mirrors

I am considering these to mount to my loader uprights. Any experience with these? Do they stay put or fall off? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0B87NF61R/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_2?smid=A3C2BHNHXYA4MR&psc=1#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div

Seat cover for MX6000 with armrests

Has anyone found a seat cover that fits the new MX tractors with armrests? I would like to cover that vinyl because it’s hot in summer and cold in winter. I have searched the Durafit covers and can’t find one that fits.
