    Diesel storage / shelf life.

The storage life of diesel hadn’t occurred to me until recent. Checking online the most common shelf life is said to be 6-12 months. (pretty wide latitude) Gives me something new to worry about…. I have a 160 gal storage tank that sits out in the sun year round and gets pretty warm here...

Using a Garden Sprayer to service fluids

I mentioned in another post how I buy inexpensive Garden Sprayers and use them to service fluids. This is particularly helpful when dealing with inconveniently-located service/fill ports. Here’s an example: Today I changed the oil in my Tractor’s engine…and the engine fill-port is...

    “Borrowing” the neighbor’s equipment… the Liability…

I borrowed my neighbor’s small excavator to dig out some mequite-roots which I’d paid to have scraped-off by a local “Land Clearing” guy… Frankly, I was at fault for imagining what the end-result might be… I had imagined a piece of cleared land…. instead, I got a $800 invoice and a a...

My circa ‘96 M4700DT “Front Axle Bracket” and “Bushing”…. are not greaseable…. despite the Owner‘s Manual lubrication instructions and depicted Zerk/Grease-fitting….none exists on my bracket. Research tells me I have an “early” bracket…which was superseded later with the greaseable type...

    Why I hate wire fences…

While cruising the property this last week I came across this scene…. It was a miserable way to die for her…. I’m very saddened by it. When I can afford it…. I plan to remove all the wire fences on this property and replace with slatted or wood or …anything but wire.

This Thread is simply about how SATISFIED and HAPPY a man can be with a Kubota Tractor.

Every once in a while I accomplish work around the place that was only possible and/or enjoyable because of this Orange Tractor. It can even be a Small Job… but one that would have been really Hard Work…except for the utility of this reliable machine. I can go out to the hangar (shed, garage...

    SSQA adaptor for pin-on loader..??

I have a pin-on loader (LA-1002) which, although popular in the mid 1990’s… is not often mentioned by attachment/implement mfr’s these days…. as most are nowadays made for SSQA stuff. I didn’t like the cost and weight of converting my loader to SSQA …and then having to face the cost and wt of...

    Whole Goods VS Parts

I’ve been talking to three different Kubota dealers about buying new parts/kits…. and when talking to the “parts” man and finding the prices exorbitant (no surprise there)… I asked the question, “What if we order it “whole goods”..?? and the parts-guy tells me he’ll have to transfer me to a...

    Telescoping 3-pt lift arms

We had a Forum Participant here a few months ago who had bought some telescoping lift arms off a Kubota (unknown model) which I dithered over before deciding I’d like to have a set for my M4700. By the time I got off my butt and took measurements he’d sold them already. If anyone has any...
