Did something really stupid - One inch hole in tractor tire

Thanks - and thanks again to everyone on this board! I've been doing everything on my for 50 years but even I know there's a time to hire a pro. This guy has the truck, the crane, the fluid tanks, everything and he does it every day. I'm comfortable that he'll get me back in operation and I...

Did something really stupid - One inch hole in tractor tire

I'm west of you near Lynchburg. My local Kubota dealer recommended Gretna tire. Gt will come out and fix the hole and refill the fluid. I could take the tire off myself, bring it in, have the tire shop fix it, then put it back on and refill it - that would save me $180. I've pulled the tires...

Did something really stupid - One inch hole in tractor tire

This is what I'm hoping for, I just don't know anybody yet. I'm off to the Kubota dealer now to see what they say. Do you suppose I could find someone like that online?

Did something really stupid - One inch hole in tractor tire

I'm new to tractors. I've been running my used Kubota M6800 for three years now with no major issues. Yesterday I managed to run over a three point hay spear and one of the small tine went completely through my tire. I try to be careful but sometimes I feel the dumbest person on earth. I...

    M6800 Air Conditioning Mystery

Great info - thanks! The manual has a chart that specifies the amount of oil for each component. The valve doesn't store oil but the receiver is listed as 10cc or 1/3 ounce. I admit to being lazy - was thinking I'd put an ounce in the receiver before assembly and call it a day. I hear what...

    M6800 Air Conditioning Mystery

You Sir, are a patient man! I bit the bullet and ordered a new receiver dryer just to be safe but I'll remember the extended vacuum trick. My guess at the moment is that the system is sealed. I think the refrigerant was low because the control valve malfunctioned and the pressure popped the...

    M6800 Air Conditioning Mystery

I did an airflow test with the lid off. When there is little airflow the system operates normally. When there is good flow, the pressures go way up. I'm ordering a control valve since I can't think of any other possibilities. One question: The manual doesn't say anything about replacing the...

    M6800 Air Conditioning Mystery

That's what I'm thinking right now. I'm not sure but possibly the valve is stuck open. There isn't much airflow across the condenser with the box open so maybe the refrigerant doesn't evaporate and the pressure stays down? I'm going back this morning and try experimenting with airflow. TX...

    M6800 Air Conditioning Mystery

Maybe I wasn't clear - I don't understand it either. The AC unit on the roof is two pieces. It's basically a tub with a lid. In the tub is the fan and the evap. With the lid off the entire system operates normally as far as I can tell. When I put the lid on the compressor engages and the...

    M6800 Air Conditioning Mystery

I've got a 2005 M6800 cab with the AC unit in the roof. I've done a few AC systems but I'm at still DIY level and I've gotten over my head...again. Cooling was poor so I checked the pressures against the service manual specs. The system was cycling but the pressures were low. I opened the...

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

I thought not but it's worth circling back and trying again. Off to it.........

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

I have those. They require the thickness of the wrench above the bolt as clearance as well as clearance all around the bolt. What surprises me here is that this is a high failure type part so you'd think that it can't be that hard. I'm missing something..........

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

this is the label on the frame. I have a service manual for M6800,M6800S,M8200,M9000. It says the serial number's first digit is 2006 manufacture. The electrical drawings are good (why I was able to bypass the switch without knowing where it was at). I don't see anything that describes...

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

I did not get it out. I thought post 12 was the correct drawing. When I removed bolt 040 the plate would not come free. The only thing I can think of is that 040 is one of two. It's not drawn that way but there are two holes in the bracket. If I'm right, the second bolt is sandwiched nicely...

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

Well that did not go well. I could stick my phone in the access hole to get a picture but not so easy with a wrench. I only have so much time to mess with this so I drilled a hole over top the bolt, put a socket on it and took it out. I had to use a 3' pry bar to break it free even with a 10"...

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

Nope - not like that airbiscuit but your post sent me looking for the diagrams (duh..) and I think I found it. The drawing doesn't show it but there are three access panels. One under the clutch pedal. one in the center and one under the brake pedal. The sensor is under the brake pedal. From...

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

I think it's whitetiger for the win! Haven't had a chance to look at it today or I would have posted pics but removing the bracket sounds like it would work. When I looked yesterday I thought about crows feet, stubby ratchets etc. The switch is kind of large - maybe 26 or 28mm so there's...

Found it but can't get a wrench on it!

I've got a 2005 M6800. Neutral safety switch went bad shortly after I bought it. I searched the manual but couldn't find a location so I had to bypass it to use the tractor. I found the little gem last night under a floor access panel just below the brake pedals. I only had a few minutes to...

    Help with M6800 Brakes

Yes sir, two people and extreme caution it is. may also try to set up the excavator as a safety somehow if that's not overly complicated. My main question is what else to look for while I'm in there. Do I need to replace any seals or other parts?

    Help with M6800 Brakes

I didn't realize the fill added that much. So depending on the wheel weights and fill I'm going to figure 1200 to 1400 lbs per tire.
