B7800 IC Regulator smoking, literally smoking

All, thank you for the information, I will be offering a new regulator tonight. What is extremely frustrating is that I talked with 2-3 techs at the local Kubota service shop and not one of them mentioned checking the regulator or that the diodes might have been damaged, they were all focused...

B7800 IC Regulator smoking, literally smoking

Fried the diodes! When checking the electrical diagram that was the one item I could not find...so I assume they are internal to the regulator? Agree, that's the best place to start. Thanks!

B7800 IC Regulator smoking, literally smoking

After mowing with the B7800 today for about 2 hours, the IC regulator started smoking...and I mean a LOT! For a little background. A couple of months ago I attempted to jump the tractor and reversed the cables. The tractor would not start, I checked all safety switches, they are good, replaced...

    B7510 Not Starting

Hi Dave, I am having the SAME issue only with y B7800. Mine was caused by me reserving the jumper cables. In looking at your schematic the B7800 is pretty much the same except I have two diodes that are integrated in the mid/rear PTO circuit...

Reversed jumper cable now tractor won't start

I hear you; I checked the only relay on the schematic and it's part of the key stop circuit and working. Here's the diode in the electrical schematic. I have visually identified and checked ever component on the schematic except these diodes, grrrrrrr. ANy other ideas? Appreciate the feedback...

Reversed jumper cable now tractor won't start

Just checked Messick's, the mid/rear switches are the same part # but the clutch switch is different, seems odd. Also, does not show the HST switch but looks similar to the clutch switch. The mystery continues.... v/r Wayne C.

Reversed jumper cable now tractor won't start

Yes, per the electrical schematic, the diodes are part of the mid/rear PTO circuits as well as the seat/seat reverse circuit. Maybe the diodes are built into the mid/rear PTO switch...will check that. v/r Wayne C.

Reversed jumper cable now tractor won't start

I have been working through the electrical system: all switch are good, starter works, fuses ok (including the 30A at the starter). I have not been able to locate the two diodes on the mid/read PTO circuits. Does anyone know where these are located so I can check them? v/r Wayne C.

Reversed jumper cable now tractor won't start

My battery was failing and was planning to get a new one. I needed to use the tractor (B7800) so decided to jump the battery; it was late and I was in a hurry and swapped the pos/neg cables.,,dang it! I corrected it but damage was already done. I checked the fuses in the box, all good. The...

    RPM with belly mower

Hi, I'm new to Kubota and this forum. I have 04 B7800 with a belly mower and have a question. The manual says the PTO should be at ~2500 RPM when using the mower. Must I run the tractor at 2500 RPM when operating the mower? Can I run it at 1800-2000 RPM if I get good cutting results...
