    Aftermarket cylinder heads, any luck?

I set the overhead when I replaced the head, compression is good, air filter is new, intake is clear, and injectors are on the way. I had a guy lined up to bring his pop off tester over so we could go through them but he never showed up. So I just ordered new ones.

    Aftermarket cylinder heads, any luck?

As just a follow up, I got the head installed, the injector pump “rebuilt”, and the machine running again… but it still runs like crap so that’s pretty neat. I say “rebuilt” because I’m pretty sure the shop didn’t do anything other than clean the injector pump. They sure didn’t calibrate it...

    Aftermarket cylinder heads, any luck?

These are one of the brands I’ve looked at. I can’t wait anymore. I’m going to get one on the way. I hope it lasts more than 5 minutes.

    Aftermarket cylinder heads, any luck?

I agree about the location thing, most if not all countries are capable of producing good quality parts. But I don’t think we can completely disregard China’s history for pumping out stuff that just shouldn’t exist. My real issue is that I don’t feel like any of these places that sell these...

    Aftermarket cylinder heads, any luck?

It would be fine if they last. A waste of time money and effort if it only lasts for a few hours of run time. I was able to get a gasket set from Kubota but it was $300, an aftermarket head is $500ish. I don’t feel like I can put $800 plus dollars worth of parts on this loader every few...

    Aftermarket cylinder heads, any luck?

While I haven’t been to either, I do agree.

    Aftermarket cylinder heads, any luck?

Hey guys, I was looking for input on some aftermarket cylinder heads. I have a D1402 engine in my old skid loader with a cracked head. I have contacted my local Kubota dealer and a few salvage yards and keep coming up empty for a genuine Kubota head. Apparently discontinued by Kubota and not...

    Kubota D1402 engine missing

Not a bad idea at all. I did give them the ol flashlight test when I had it off last time. I was kind of kicking myself for not going ahead and breaking the head down and actually looking at the valves and whatnot after the new head gasket didn’t fix it.

    Kubota D1402 engine missing

I have some cleaning up to do with it tomorrow. I think I’ll pull it in the shop and tear down when I’m done with it this weekend and put another head gasket in it. I don’t like that I lost compression on 2 cylinders. The head gasket is a pretty easy swap on that engine. I was really trying...

    Kubota D1402 engine missing

I moved all of the parts together. As in, all mating parts from one to the other. Everything was kept clean and separated for their respective cylinders. I’m quite certain they are on the rack correctly. They have a sort of timing mark on them. As far as testing the pump all I can really do...

    Kubota D1402 engine missing

Yes, I pulled the entire pump apart and inspected everything. It all looked good. So I swapped 1 and 2 for troubleshooting. The problem stayed at number 2. 2nd compression test was done today. I’m pretty sure it was an aftermarket head gasket. I didn’t do a height test but I did rotate it...

    Kubota D1402 engine missing

Hey all, new guy here. I was hoping to get some help. I have an old mustang skid loader with a D1402 in it. I’ve owned this for several years and up until now it has been a great machine. Recently it has started sputtering at mid throttle. (Which is where I like to run it most of the time) it...
