New to me BX2230. Engaged rear PTO lever. Very short grinding noise occurred but stopped. Re-engaged rear PTO lever no grinding noise sounded fine.
Then after a minute a loud grinding noise developed like the PTO’s were going through a rock crusher. Lever then flopped and would not stay engaged at any setting. Turned off PTO and shut tractor down.
Anyone have a catastrophic sounding grinding noise? What caused it?
Is there a good repair manual with photos for the early BX series and step by step guide?
I have a WSM but i am finding the steps are not clear enough for my small mind.
Is this repairable? for a winter project? I have basic mechanical skills, equipment, and tools.
Is there a later series manual that would apply to this 2230 or, did the mechanical design change from the 2230 to the 2300 series? Appreciate any help and ideas how to fix this. Thanks. Tom
