So for my anniversary I decided to take the better half out to dinner.
So we are sitting down eating our hotdogs at Costco and an employee sits beside us. We strike up a conversation and it turns to inflation and prices.
He says he just unloaded a trailer and this was their last shipment of oil around the $30/gal mark. Next delivery was going to raise prices to $55. Talking about motor type oils.
We are good here as we already bought most of our oil in bulk when our fall fuel arrived.
That's a big jump. Guess we should have seen this coming as well as crude and gas in the rise so oil for engine/hydraulic sure to follow suit.
Ouch.

I don't know if I'd be worried about the price of oil when the wife is probably going to take half your money after an anniversary dinner at Costco. :ROFLMAO:

There has been some talk on another forum I belong to about supply constraints for the base products used to make most motor oils. The person who started the thread owns a petroleum distribution company and he provided a lot of perspective in to what’s happening being the scenes due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Every time I drive past a Walmart, I stop to see what’s in stock. I grab 3 or 4 5 quart jugs of the oil I use in my cars, ATVs, and other machiner (5w-30 ESP, 0w-40 FS, 5w-40 DELVAC).

The Mobil 1 products I use have gone up by about $4 per 5 quart jug. Some are not being stocked anymore. I suspect there may be more price increases coming.

I went to local Ford dealer to get the 6.7 oil change. last one was $172 which includes dually tire rotation and today was $224 for the same. I only use the dealer cause it is in warranty.

The warranty is a non-issue. What is an issue is having a dealer put in over 15 quarts of the wrong oil in my 13 quart 6.7. Yes, they got it wrong again after I returned to have them make it right. That was the first of my two free oil changes, I never went back for my second "free" oil change, I can't afford it.

This thread makes me glad I "stocked up" on that Rotella when I did. (But I know that wont last forever;))

Also, "recently" (last year'ish or so) I noticed that our local Wally World doesn't have "Jack Squat" for oil on on the shelves, but if you order it online, they have it on my doorstep in 24 hours with no problem? EDIT: Sometimes it's "same day"

Gotta be a minimum order of like 50 bucks or so, but that is rarely a problem nowadays. :cautious:
