Ya know watching these prices, I am kind of glad I didnt buy the new Chevy truck with the 3.0 diesel. Besides I dont drive that far any more, so it think that would have been hard on it anyways

No one is forced to buy it at that price
Very true, that's why I filled up before going there, used just over 3/4 tank up and back.

Problem is the people that live up there (middle of the Adirondacks) have no other option. All the other stations in the immediate area have similar prices and alternatives are miles away. Captive customers so-to-speak. Kind of like selling water in the desert, the price is what they say it is, pay it or go without.

Happy to swap diesel prices. We're at $2.60 per litre....$9.85 per gallon. Not a great time to be driving an ex army Unimog that gets about 9 mpg. Lucky I don't drive much.

I have a friend with a 3.0 liter diesel Chevy truck.

Other day he decided he’s going to park it unless needed. He has a couple other options until snow flies.

Gas buddy app is helpful to find lower cost alternatives, although most stations around me are within $0.40 of each other. I won’t go out of my way to get cheaper fuel but if I can plan my chore route around it I will go to the cheaper station.

just checked...
'cheap' gas is $1.84 per litre, diesel is $2.50 a litre !!!!
so diesel is 66 cents more...or 150% the cost of gas...

WHY ? Aside from robbing us, it also costs farmers more to make food, shipper to drive their trucks, etc.

I just drove back from CO…from here to there Illinois (I saw 6.15) seemed the highest across I70 and followed by Colorado. We stayed near Florissant and it was creeping’ up close to 6/gallon around the Colorado Springs area and just north of there. (Pray those peeps get rain…it’s pretty dry west of Illinois as best I could tell)

let’s hope it doesn’t get up to stadium event beverage pricing. 😳

Just went by the same station as in my post #29 to grab some milk.
Diesel was $5.899 Friday - today, Monday, it's $6.099. $0.20 over the weekend. WTF!
I know a lot of you guy are paying much more than I am but somethings not right in the world!

I was told that as soon as this (not a) war was “over one hour after it started” 6 months ago and concludes sometime after the mid terms in a couple months that prices would drop like a stone once we got our bribe money

So, I guess that I can count my blessings. My 2008 Nissan Titan runs on E85, $3.10 a gallon and 13 mpg. My wife's 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV does all the local errands on electricity and every 3 months (if we don't go to far) I have to put in about 4 gallons of regular to keep the fuel "fresh". My 2014 Focus ST gets a minimum of 22 mpg on regular.

I only use a few gallons of off-road diesel a year for my L2501HST. I think the most I've used is probably 15 gallons a year when I was doing a lot of projects and that includes the fuel needed to plow the community road and maintain the same gravel road. Even at $3 more per gallon, that's about $45 per year more which I can survive. Occasionally, neighbors donate to the cause or pay me to plow their driveway and that makes my fuel basically zero for that year.
