I can see why you have had problems, that is really open. This is a pretty good shot of the grapple and the SSQA handles. The C-channel that the hoses are in protect the SSQA handles pretty good. I do have a grill guard, after seeing what happened to GP (GP Outdoors) with the same grapple.

I gave what fishies were left after the raccoons visited last night a drink ...





Surprisingly there are still about 100 little 3/4" - 1 long fish in there ... Quite happy with the 250 gallon water delivery!



Looking like another dry week, may need to give them another tote before I leave out ...

I have added accessory lighting to both my girls and it’s really helpful if finishing up after dark or doing odd chores after dark…on the little one, I have not installed the rear facing lights(yet) , it’s so bright that after looking forward if I turn around to look back my eyes can not adjust to the light and dark quickly…hopefully you have good lights behind you too.

Built a rock screen, used old and new wood and ¼” hardware screen fastened with deck screws and washers, got about $75 into it which kept my CFO (wife) happy.

I have two piles from when I scraped off the sod for the retaining wall and the blueberry patch. Piles have been sitting for a couple of years now so the sod is decomposed well, Only about 7 to 8 yard total so I didn’t want to go all out on it, no vibration, just a rake and hands work well enough for me. Found my welding gloves to be the most comfortable over my work gloves.

The angle is pretty flat to prevent the clay clumps from rolling off. I made it wide enough to get the bucket under it but found just tipping it over out of the way is easier. Didn’t put a back or sides on either, I don’t do that much, 4 buckets at time and then I just spread it to level some dips and bumps that have been bugging me when I mow. The boss wants a dedicated raised bed for garlic so I’ll save some to mix for that.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with all the rocks.

I have (well had) a big dirt pile from when my shop was built. Told the missus "Ill use it...' She of course doubted me. Always does.
I have (had now) an area that had been 'reclaimed' 15 years ago and has settled, stumps rotted, leaving depressions (awwwww) you know the drill. So my little BX has been filling (six a day) garden carts of fairly clean fill that I drive through the woods and spread. Done about 30 days so far and have about ten to go.
So as to not destroy the lawn, I drive around the dirt pile. Well, it dips about a foot down at the back and then about 10' feet later, rises back up, this dip was/is for runoff. So today I... Laid down two rows (10 blocks per row) of concrete blocks. Ground was nice and flat and pitched fine. Blocks all lined up with no prep to the soil under. So four 4" square holes for the runoff. More than enough (one probably would of been adequate, but I had the blocks....) Then I moved fill over the blocks (about a 4" depth) and filled in the rest of the 'path' (16" deep and 7 feet wide)) for 8 feet. Probably 50 little loads from the FEL of the BX. Four+ hours of work. Done! Though I missed breakfast and lunch.....
Dirt pile is 60% gone.....

I put on a FrostBite grapple to use for woods work - loading logs, clearing tractor roads, and firewood. You can see it is wide open behind the SSQA plate where the levers are.

Much of the brush work is actually with trees that I want to clear off of a tractor road not brush.
This is one from a while back. Just want to get it off the road and let it rot in the woods.

I cut it into road wide sections and then to grab them I come down from the top using the ground as a back stop so they don't get pushed away from me with all the stiff branches.

Then I stash them some where in the woods off the road near by. So you can see I need a good grill guard and lower front end protection and locks on the SSQA levers.

Is that your M5640 pictured ? Do you know what the logs you're loading into the truck with the grapple would weigh ? I look at pics like this in awe and envy - really makes my B7200 look like a little toy.

Yesterday afternoon I connected the flail mower that I've been building to the front of our little B7200 to give the mower its first test. Really happy with how it cut, but there are things still to be done to finish it and some things that still need changes.

I currently have a mid mount mower that I remove when not needed, but it's a horrible job, especially the underneath PTO shaft connection and disconnection. The mower deck is about half deck and half rust with several holes and lots of patches welded on from before I got it. There's got to be a...

Finished by using the forks to bring a crate load of firewood down to the house from the woodshed - hopefully this will be the last until next winter.

Finished 170 feet of well access driveway with top layer of stone dust. Total of 110 tons crushed aggregate: 3 inch dense grade, 1.5 inch hard pack, 3/8 hardpack, dust over geotextile. Compacted in between lifts. Good rain overnight so can do final compacting today. Well driller came by, liked it but wants more stone down for the last additional 100 feet. That section is where house will be built so didn't want to waste money/time on stone and then just have to dig it up, but... oh well. Pun intended. Pics later.

Yes that is my M5640. The picture is from July 2019. The logs are Eastern White Pine which is fairly light being soft wood. They are from a tree that the top blew out of and I salvaged the logs. They have an average diameter of 23 to 24 inches and 12'-6" long so according to the log weight calculator I use they are about 1300 lbs each. The loader is good for over 2000 lbs. There is about 800 BF on the truck.

Good job on your drive !! Your well driller must have had some bad experiences or your lot is softer than it looks but I guess you can't blame him. When we had ours done they drove over what was there. Ended up going down 440'. Well was over on the right side of the picture before it drops down.

Paul you should have included a link to your mower build thread. It adds a lot of insight to what you have accomplished. Pretty amazing I think.
