Today I couldn't reconnect my BX23S backhoe to the tractor, and as described in this thread, I can't connect the male connector to the female connector on the rear right side of the tractor. A female connector is mounted to a steel pipe on the tractor. I assumed there might be pressure in the lines, so I removed the male connector from the rubber hose to relieve it, but it didn't help. Then I tried installing just the male connector into the female connector by itself, not attached to the hose, thinking that if there was any residual pressure on that side of the line, the open back end would relieve it. The male will insert fully into the female connector; however, it will not lock in place.
My next step was to remove the 2 rubber lines I had connected from the backhoe to the tractor, then reconnect the rubber line that connects to the female line when you remove the backhoe, but it still won't fully engage. My question is: "Do these female couplers fail, or is there something else that I can try before replacing the female coupler? Your assistance will be gratefully appreciated.
