Has anyone found a way to mount a step to the right side of a LX4020 with loader? I have a part number of 6C410-51323 for a step that is supposed to fit the LX2620 but no mention of the 4020.

I have never felt the need to enter my LX4020 cab from the right side, which would be tight having to squeeze past the loader control.

My dealer told me there is no right side step listed for the LX4020. I still wanted one there however so I removed the left side step and mounted it on the right side using two 3/8" x 1 1/4" grade 8 bolts. I then added a custom step to the left side which is much better than the OEM step Kubota LX Step. LX2610 Step , LX3310 Step. , B2650 Step with Mid Mount Mower Step. Kubota MMM There are holes already on the right side but getting the bolts to drop down in first was difficult. I tied dental floss to the threaded end of the bolts, snaked the floss through the existing holes and managed to stand the bolts upright and to fall through by tuggint on the floss. I then used JB Weld to secure the bolt heads to the frame before putting the step on and securing with lock washers and nuts. My dealer wondered why I wanted a second step because it was too tight on the loader control side to get in and out. Well, it isn't too tight for me in a pinch like when the left side door can not be opened and I have to get out on the right. I should have asked my dealer why they put a door that opens on the right side if no one wants to get in or out there. Maybe I will if I should tell them how I did this.

A good reason for having a door on the right side is so you have easy access to the loader control, three point hitch lever, and PTO switch from outside the cab. The safety reason is so you can get out if you accidentally roll the tractor on its left side.

I often access those 3 control levers through the right side door. I have also moved the tractor by pressing gently on the pedal (just enough without hitting the safety switch)when lining up the 3-point.
