Hey all, I have a Kubota b7200dt tractor that needed new brake shoes and seals. I got all new seals and shoes along with springs and gaskets for the dry brake housings. My question is, the new paper gaskets; should I use a sealant like permatex gray or install them dry? I’ve seen a lot of mixed answers on this… thanks!

Thanks for the reply! My concern is being able to find these gaskets next time I need in there…. The old gaskets were gray permed on and they got destroyed during disassembly. This tractor is 40+ years old and they’re starting to not make parts for it…

So the aftermarket pads that the Kubota dealer sold me don’t quite fit inside the drum… any suggestions that don’t require a machine shop? Like possibly sanding them down a little bit…

If you sand them down, wear a respirator with very good filters while doing it.

If your concerned about the gaskets copy them. ;)
