$460 for two 180/85D12 R1 ag tires and tubes. Basically a metric 7x12. I don't even want to KNOW what rears are gonna cost when the time comes...
Based on the fact that the amount of rust on the nuts, bolts, and washers matches the rust on the rim that the damage may have happened when the tire (and rim) were new and the repair must have been successful.

I hear that. Tractor is a 2015, haven't hit 850 hours yet.Based on my current usage, that will be a concern for my great, great, grandson.

Was a very common Farmer repair especially in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Was a successful method of fixing a problem fast and for low cost. Nowadays, in our throwaway society, people are too scared to try do that.
I have seen that style of repair on skidder tires back in the 70s, logging was not a high margin job back then. They would take whatever was available to patch... piece of steel or sidewall out of an old tire, then put a piece of carpet or floor mat out of the truck to cushion the tube... whatever it took to get the job done and get to payday and maybe have enough left over to get an old used tire that was better...

Zip ties? Seems a little sketchy, but okay for a parade tractor I guess. Wouldn't want to put much of a load on them.
That type damage often happens while mowing someone else's property that isn't supposed to have anything hidden in weeds. It can be worse. Neighbor hit a high pressure natural gas line.
Utility company estimated cu ft gas that escaped and billed my neighbor along with cost of repairing line.

Those are not zip ties. That is some kind of Nylon thread. I took those pictures and I looked carefully at that tire. I don't know what caused the damage but I talked with the owner and he said that he "sewed" the tires up several years ago and that is about all that I can remember about it. I just thought that it was interesting.
