Good day everyone, my 2014 ZD221 with 375 hrs has just recently been shutting off just like it is running out of fuel , stumbling and before it completely shuts off, clears itself and runs normal again. I service this machine myself and within the last 40 hrs there has been a complete service including 2 new Kubota inline filters. I use clean filtered fuel stored inside my garage. I tested the fuel shut off solenoid as per Kubota service manual, it is working fine plus the solenoid timer is also working correctly as you can hear it about 5 seconds after the key is turned off, there is no time frame as to when this stumbling occurs, sometimes within minutes sometimes a lot longer. This has happened 3 times now this month, highly unlike it to do this. It has been trouble free since I bought it in 2014 brand new. Other areas I am leaning is the fuel tank could have dirt in it but the filters are clear and clean. Could the rubber fuel lines need replacing? They are not cracked or leaking that I can see. This all started this month, Thanks. I checked for water in my fuel. I have a commercial Baldwin water separator on my fuel pump storage tank and the fuel is whistle clean.

FWIW - I chased a D1105 Kubota engine that was doing exactly this, replaced filters, filter housings, small fuel lines........... for about 20 hours it was driving me bat sht crazy........
blind luck - I looked UP under the frame ......... there was diesel there, hell I thought it was all the diesel that was bled out of the system EACH time I had to bleed the system.....
As the man once said - NOT SO fast my friend - the supply line from the primary filter to the lift pump had a small leak in it ...... like a tiny drip leak...... BUT just enough to suck a bit of air into the system.
NOW what I would tell you TO DO .......... take off the hose COMING from the tank.......... allow it to "pee" - does it do it at a steady rate? IF so........ maybe you do NOT have something in the tank blocking the inlet.
But if it doesnt continue a normal flow ...... you know where to look!!!

Could also be the lift pump is failing, remove the line feeding the injection pump, put that line into a container, then turn on the key.
You should get solid flow of fuel with some pressure.

Thanks to Hokie and Wolfman for your assistance, I did take the fuel line off from the main tank, it was "peeing", what would you consider a decent flow, the flow was steady but not as much flowing as I thought it would be but it was steady. I let it "pee" for 5 minutes, no change in flow. I ran the fuel pump for 5 minutes as well, good strong flow. I replaced the fuel filters while I had the lines disconnected. I have not cut grass yet with it so unsure if the new filters will do anything. It started right up after everything was buttoned, unlike my old 7.3 IDI which is a nightmare when filters are changed.
