Reviving this old topic with a new experience. I bought a Switchbot Relay in order to open and close the third garage door, where my car lives, with my Android phone since many times the door will not close or it will not open with the remote control. I have already tried replacing remote controls and the main board on the old Crafstman opener and it did not help. Anyway, the relay device works well using WiFi and the phone and once it is integrated into "Coogle Home", from there it can be used with "Google Auto" in a car with voice commands.
So, I was going to show my wife how it works with my phone, so later on I can setup her phone like that. I told my phone "Hey Google, open the third garage door". Immediately, my Hisense Android TV that was off and remained off replied "Opening the third garage door"..... and the door opened. 😱🤯🤬
Our Samsung TV's can do the same thing, we have turned off that feature.

I think we all would be surprised by how much we are being monitored. I know my wife and I found out when the DEA task force showed up in our driveway. IF I remember correctly, I made a post on here about it when it happened, been a few years ago.

Short story, wife had ordered a bunch of empty pill capsules from Amazon to make her own Moringa pills. She walked out the door to head to the post office and two guys were standing in our driveway with an F150 blocking it. She came back in screaming for me. I grabbed the pistol, shoved it in the back of my pants and went outside to see what was going on. They both showed badges and then showed me the shopping list from Amazon. We had a little discussion and then they left along with the other dozen or so officers that had been positioned around the house.

I talked to our police chief and to a couple of my trooper friends and they said yep, that is what the DEA task force does. They work with online retailers and have them report when different items are bought and then they will decide if they will go and investigate or not.

They know everything about you and your whereabouts based on your electronics.

Mine has a switch to turn off the mic. However, when you turn it off, 4 very bright yellow LED's light up under the screen and remain on as long as the mic switch is off. Apparently, the "internet fix" is to cover them with black electrical tape.
This whole thing with the mic sometimes its hilarious. My wife is continuously talking while we are watching TV. Sometimes, the TV picks up on what she is saying in Spanish and start displaying text with what she is saying. After several words are displayed, the TV says that it is an invalid command and presents examples of valid commands.

Totally believable.
Just like the TSA does not store your full body image
They need a lot of storage space to store a full body image of me.

OK, the one grand Daughter bought me one of those Amazon Alexia things, OK its cool any kind of music I want news weather cool. NOW this thing has started to come on at all odd hours, even when Im not home. And it is somewhat disconcerting, when you hear voices in the kitchen and you are the only one home! And you sneak your old arse outa bed and pick up a boom stick on the way to the kitchen, only to find this box just doing its thing. And it could be the last 60s station I had played or the news or weather, which I did not previously play, or this morning at 0400, AM Coast to coast !
Anyone have a logical explanation or is it haunted like them damned Furbies???
Yeah. As @Roadworthy said it is defective. I have 5-6 of these in the house for over 7 years and they have never just started talking or playing music.
