The wanna be spoiled rotten child in me now wants to abandoned my current tractor position and order an L70 series with a cab, but i doubt there will be one for me to just go see any time soon. It will be my last tractor purchase any way and two years from now the price will be irrelevant. Where two years from now I’ll be looking outside at the snow thinking man do I hate moving snow without a cab.

Im now sold on the grand series tractors, what an amazing difference between them and the normal tractors ability to perform real work. I bought a used L3560 open cab with everything I wanted short of the cab. I was feeling content enough with it but now theres all these ads popping up about the L70 series that are tricking out. I think a 40 to 50 HP would be adequate for my needs I dont do much PTO powered work any more. I assume the L70 should perform as well or better than the L60?

You'd normally expect the upgrades to be relatively minor, and absent some complete screwup by Kubota, for it to be essentially the same machine with more creature comforts. Therefore same capability and often quite a few interchangeable parts.

If you're upgrading to your last machine, you definitely want to make sure you get enough HP.

Looks like the main differences are:
- 4 post cab, larger with better visibility
- more tricky electronics for the transmission, K-command screens and cameras
- new loaders, under boom lights look clever, new backhoe
- LED lights is a bonus
- stronger front axle
- options for turbo on the higher spec models

It all sounds very good, but realistically for most use most of the time, you'd not notice the difference. The cab is the main drawcard, but a -60 series with cab is probably just as good. If you were buying one, depending on your elevation, the turbo might be a good addition.

Good read and I think after going through some of the cons listed in one of the responses an L4060 grand with a cab is probably the right tractors for my needs. And I just missed a really nice low hour unit.

Grand Ls are awesome if they are correct size and power for your uses. I was originally going to drive a GL and write the check, but spousal unit preferred the MX, so that is what we got as she operates it too.

That being said, sure the GL has some features I would most likely not use, but it’s a very nice and more refined machine than the MX IMO. Is it more basic, absolutely not (honestly I am not sure I need any more buttons on the dash). I did prefer the treadle of the MX (which is common to my B) vs the GL…that was the only demerit imo. Otherwise it’s awesome. mx is too though…i would not kick either out of bed for eating crackers.

After watching for about a year for a clean used factory-cabbed tractor I found this L4240HSTC with 977 hours. That was late 2018. It currently has about 1,700 hours on it and I couldn't be happier. Other than the climate control, the features I use the most are the HST+ and AutoThrottle.
