Greetings,

I am considering selling my L305DT and was curious at what I should price it at. I have looked at comparables on tractor house. I am located in Central New York. It has served me well for 16 years now and I don't find I will use it much more. It has 5590 hours and came from a golf course where I worked. It looks like hell but starts right up. It has the 1720 Loader with separate hydraulic tank. It also has a Kelly model 40 3pt backhoe which works but most of the hydraulic pistons will need to be resealed. It has turf tires.

Curious on any advice or a starting point. Was thinking try on marketplace before I send it to the auction. I'll see if I can post a few pictures.

Thank you for any advice
Sean

If I were looking to buy it I wouldn't want to pay more than 4 thousand. In reality maybe it would be worth more than that, especially with FEL and backhoe.

Make sure your listing has better pictures than these here. 2 are oriented wrong and I think you should have one of the engine.

Looks like a good old tractor, albeit in need of paint.

Don't know your particular circumstances, but I'd think twice, for the little bit of monies you'll get, I'd keep it. If it's kept out of the weather and run regularly, it's a good machine to have.

I agree with @Motion. Unless you really need the cash for some other bills or toy, I would hold onto it. Just think how much you would spend to replace that tractor if you decided in a couple years you still need to use it.

Every market and location prices vary widely so its hard to say what its worth.
I just picked up a L355-ss with L1720 loader, 1342 hours but really rough comestic shape for $5500. I also needed the extra power and couldn't find anything in central Maine that price that wasn't either not running or 2wd/mechanical steering.

I'd estimate somewhere between 5k-7k, again depending on how fast you want to sell or if you would rather get the most money. You'll know if you priced it too high or low (either no one will message you, or you will get 100 messages in 2 days haha).

In my area that's probably a six thousand dollar tractor the way it sets. In my area Market Place is the best place to sell most things. Things on consignment auctions around here normally don't do well. Normally the junk and unsellable end up there. If it were me I would just keep it. You might need it again.

Thanks for the replies here. It has been a great tractor and has served me well. I have less than 10 hours on it in two years now. It has some issues as most old equipment does. It lives outside.

I was thinking in the 4k range, which is not much, but I may keep it as I don't really need the money. The issue is that if something happens and a major breakdown occurs and it won't run then it's not worth much at all. If I could use the whole thing to fund a new tractor that would be different story :)

It is a tank. Everything with it is slow. Well-built and tough iron. It has moved massive rocks and will pick up so much weight that will blow air out of the beads on the front tires! 540 and 1000 PTO. We had a MX 6000 at my prior workplace. The old 1720 Kubota loader I feel was way more robust. Possibly have to move to an M series to get the toughness of this old beast.

Here’s what I consider a “Definitive Answer“: It’s worth only what someone will pay you for it.

This includes what a dealer or other seller will give you towards a replacement.

(I’m certain there are those that will say a seller will inflate/deflate their offer in-consideration of their selling-price…but that is beside the point unless they can pre-determine your purchase offer.) ;)

I was going to say $4-6k. The backhoe, being a 3ph model, doesn't add much value but could definitely be useful at times.

I was in the 'keep it' crowd, but if it's sitting outside and you've only used it 10 hours in 2 years, it's probably going downhill. Maybe sell it to a deserving home, even if you don't need the money.

That's our experience around here as well. If something like this hit the marketplace, all would assume there is something very, very wrong with the unit. Otherwise, the owner would be hanging on to it. So it would be a very hard sell to anyone that wasn't really mechanically inclined. Unless it went to somebody who knew the past owner or knew the unit well.
