Oatmeal is much easier if you use the overnight method. Equal amounts of oatmeal and milk (or water but milk is much better). Let set in refrigerator for a few hours (overnight) then microwave it for a minute or so. I add brown sugar and peanut butter and enjoy it greatly!

No raisins for me!

That works also but the important part is never use commercially processed rolled oats. Roll or crack your own groats to avoid all the nasty chemicals used in processing and to make them last more then a couple days in the box without freezing.

N.Y,
Lunch today. Fresh picked Lillian's Caseload peas with fresh picked beet greens, light brown rice, & a grilled tuna steak 😋.

Lemon Garlic Shrimp
over Linguine

About 18 minutes from starting the pasta water to plated. EVOO, butter, garlic, white wine, and lemon juice.

The chilled cucumber salad made earlier in the day is a nice contrast to the red pepper flakes

I recently picked up a Weber Genesis at Costco for a great price if you're a Costco member. They're still on sale for another week. View attachment 175923
After years of the Kettles I finally gave in.
Been a few weeks since you sent this, but I went propane-only decades ago.

No right-or-wrong, just what we are accustomed to.....

How do you like the Weber now? My biggest complaint with mine is that is doesn't have infinite controls.

I like to be able to feather burners down without a bottom limit (e.g., LOW detent). Sounds foolish, but it's what I like, and I think I've done enough cooking to warrant a preference.

I also consider mine small. Had several very large models, and this one is just lacking for size.

Again, all that said it lasted longer than any other grill I've had. Still works flawlessly, but I can tell useful life is coming.

We really like it. I find it can go fairly low and if I want to cook slower, the back rack works awesome. Also I do a lot of indirect cooking just monitoring the temperature like an oven for slow cooks. The sear burner is also nice. If you put the one on each side and that on high, it sears well. We really like it so far but nothing like the kettle for wings and ribs.
