Hey Rob welcome to OTT by the way!!

Now a couple questions for a little more detail...
Engine oil was black, engine oil filter was clean?
Hydraulic oil was black (which would be bad), hydraulic oil filter was clean?
Engine oil was black, hydraulic oil filter was clean (did you change the right filter)?

I wouldn't think after 50 hours neither oil should be very bad. Changing them is precautionary to remove any leftover metal bits from manufacturing and break-in.

I'll assume you meant engine oil and filter. If you still have the oil maybe take it to the dealer for a second opinion. If they are reputable they might give you an honest answer. Or send it out for testing.

Thank You for your response. Just to clarify: the motor oil that I drained was black, while oil in the motor oil filter was clear. I thought that maybe I had confused the motor oil filter with the HST filter, but that wasn't the case. I've absolutely confirmed that it is the motor oil filter.
I'll follow up with your suggestion and talk with the dealer. Thanks again.

Diesel oil turns black much more quickly than gasoline engine oil. That part is pretty normal, even after 50 hours.

However, the clean oil in the filter seems concerning, at least to me. If the oil was dirty out of the oil pan but perfectly clean in the filter it seems like maybe the oil is not circulating through the filter as it should.

As @Bee-Positive suggested, a conversation with your dealer might be a good next move.

I'm thinking the same thing.
