This girl is SLOW. Should be able to hit 25, but 17 is all she has.

2407 hours.

All the filters are new from Kubota (have always been Kubota filters). UDT2 fluid clean. Spark arrestor cleaned. Stock sized tires. Linkages adjusted to allow full throttle movement all the way to the throttle stop. Brakes are not dragging. I cracked all three injector lines and confirmed all three cylinders firing. It has never been tampered with. Safety wiring still on throttle stop and the cap is still on the rack adjuster.

One weird caveat....

Low gear ~10 mph

Medium gear ~6 mph

High gear, as stated, 17 mph.

The shift linkage is tight and everything moves like I think it should. Just not sure what to think of the speed differences between the Low/Med gear.

Help me help the old man that owns this SxS, if you would.

Thanks.

Check out this video.
Around minute 18:30 he mentions that the top speed is about 15 MPH.
Needed pump and plate replacement.

I think something goofy is going on with the Med/High shifting. It would make sense if high was actually Med since the speed difference in Med is so low.

I did find a TSB about the suction hoses on the back of the HST, but I pulled them both and didn't see any issues. Even driving it into a solid object, the hoses didn't appear to collapse.

I dug into this a little more after getting a service manual for it. This isn't making any sense.

Being a gear selected transmission, how in the world can Medium speed be slower than Low? All of the linkage are fine and in the correct position. If something goofy did happen with them, Reverse wouldn't be were Reverse is. I could see the top speed in High being off due to a week set of pumps, but the slow Medium gear makes me think there is something else going on that I can't wrap my head around.

N.Y,
My new RTV X tops out at about 18 mph in high on level ground. About 6 mph in low going up my hill. They are way underpowered compared to what they advertise. Was told it's normal for them. 25 hp ain't much for a UTV I guess.
