I finally got back to looking at the tractor after some family issues. Installed the gauge and bushhogged for a few hours before the light came on again. Gauge didn’t read past 8 ingh with the limit we discussed set at 11.82 ingh (300mmgh).
in terms of oil temp, filter is warm/hot, but I can keep my hand on it and the suction line. Same with rear end PTO casing. I’m not sure how best to check the hydraulic oil test.
My assumption at this point is a faulty temp switch, or oil is getting to hot and I just am ignorant of testing method. If oil temp is too high, what do I need to look at to help alleviate ?
Sure sounds like the switch. I assume the light goes out if you unplug it?

Hi folks,
Just found this forum while looking for parts, and was hoping someone would be willing to answer a question or two..
I bought an M6950 DTS a couple months ago, after getting tired of dealing with local JD dealers. Tractor has low hours, 560, and barn kept, but I’m running into typical items you would expect for a 30 year machine.

I was running a 20ft 3pt chain harrow today, and the hydraulic sensor light came on. I assume it’s a constriction, so I’ve ordered a filter from local dealer (not in stock), and I’m going to drain and replace the fluid.
-first question. Does this model have a suction screen? I can’t seem to find one in the drawings from Kutoba. Is so, where?
- Is there anything else I should be looking at beyond fluid, filters? Hydraulics are strong, smooth, and I haven’t found any leaks beyond a couple I’m about to swap.
-last question. Has anyone used Providence Premium Trans-hydraulic oil (multi-trac) sold by Rural King? it states it meets Kubota UTD , Super UTD specs.
Thank you all for your help!
