Hi everyone. I have an L3130 with an LA513 loader. We feed a lot of large bales with this tractor and should get a bigger tractor as well, but in the meantime our LA513 loader and tractor are up against the max fairly often. I might have an opportunity to get a new LA723 loader. This seems like it will fit my L3130, and offers higher lift and a bigger max load. I have loaded rear tyres and a counterweight, and I could use the extra, not to mention a new loader with fresh bushings, etc.

It’s just odd to me that Kubota would have offered two loaders that fit my tractor, with one being more capable than the other in every way. So, that makes me suspicious. Does the LA723 loader outperform the LA513 on the same tractor? Are there any hidden issues here that I might not be thinking about?

I’ve converted my LA513 to SSQA so I’ll likely have to do that to the LA723, but that’s all I’ve come up with so far.

1. Does it need different mounts and, if so, are they included?
2. More pounds, higher lift, same pump, you can count on slower cycle time. Probably not important to you.
3. More pounds, higher c.g., exercise more care.

Considerably more capacity, maybe K offered the 513 at a lower price?

Thanks. I hadn’t thought about possible slower cycle times, but it makes sense as extra power has to come from somewhere.

I’m not sure about the mounts. I plan to carefully measure the LA723 but that’s one of the things I was hoping someone here might have insights on.

You’re absolutely right about taking more care. I’m an experienced operator with a lot of hours on this tractor, but it would make it easier to get into real trouble.

45mm vs 50mm lift cylinder = 24% more lifting force and 24% slower lift time.

My cheap ass solution would be slap a couple 2" cylinders on the LA513

Haha, yeah that would solve one problem. My current loader is getting pretty beaten up, so a new one wouldn’t be bad. And presumably I can get something by selling the LA513.

The LA723 also lifts higher and has more reach. I assume Kubota or whoever actually makes them has engineered it overall to handle the extra capacity, so going to a new LA723 over an old LA513 seems to offer me a number of benefits. If it fits.

Higher lift and more reach = more instability. I think you really need a bigger tractor.

Yeah I really need a bigger tractor. But that doesn’t change my question about the LA723. If Kubota designed the tractor and the loader to work together, I have to trust them on that. I’m just trying to confirm whether it’s interchangeable. I’m 95% confident it is, and if nobody has experience here with this, I’ll take some measurements and post updates on what happens.

The LA723 will 100% work on that tractor as it was designed for that tractor.
While the subframe and mounts all look the same they have different part numbers and I suspect they are heavier parts for the LA723.

The reason that the tractors could be equipped with different loaders was price point, the tractor equipped with the LA513 was cheaper than the tractor equipped with the LA723.
