Waiting for parts is a problem, the kid has a 1 ton Dodge, she hauls horses and, well around the ranch doing most everything. There was a problem with the fuel system tank pumps I never did get all of it but it was a very touchy subject, since that truck is a major part of her business.
Anyway, 3 months into the deal no parts, and I have nothing to say but good things about her dealer, parts were unobtainum, no where to be found. Since her truck was less than a year old, he had his guys gut a new one, and installed everything new under warranty from another truck. I dont know how long that truck sat on the dealers lot waiting on parts, but it was a long time. Granted failure rates are low unless you pick one of those low numbers

I don't think that does what you want. Once your vehicle is in the dealer system, your information is available to them.
It’s been explained to me that the on-board wifi, satellite-comm, and proprietary software is available thru dealer-downloads to Stellantix and includes maximum speeds, routes used in nav-memory, android-auto-use, etc. The software-version is updated via sirius whenever Stellantis desires unless disabled by the operator. I’d rather be in-control of such things.

His logic was why was a new truck traded in after 15 months and 17,000 miles. How dim do you have to be to think there's only one reason why someone trades in a vehicle. Not doing something because something bad might happen is a sad way to live, it's the coward's way.
Exactly. I sold an F150 because my needs changed and I needed something that would spend all its time towing. A few years ago I bought a Toyota 4Runner that had just under 3000 miles on the odometer. It has been trouble free. Someone sold it because it wasn't what they expected so they weren't happy with it, not because there was something wrong with it.

Same with the Ford 10 speeds. TSB after TSB.
What’s really got him upset is the warranty on the REST of the truck is timing-out while it waits for tranny repairs. (He’s engaged to an attorney who is likely going to liven things up shortly. He wants the warranty extended an equal amount of time.)

That seems harsh.

Not doing something because something bad might happen …might also be intelligent, prescient, cautious, or smart.
