Bingo, sample size of one or otherwise.
There are many pieces of data that go into a thorough and meaningful decision matrix, but a sample size of one from a random member on a forum just isn't one of them, or at least shouldn't be. Luckily we all have access to someone who actually has experience with a significant sample size. Are you going to jump out of a plane at 33,000 ft without a parachute because Vesna Vulović tells you that she survived the experience?

The OP already selected the F12/R12 before @whitetiger's response but now he can feel even more confident in his decision to spend $70k or more on a new tractor.

Just bump it up to an M5-111 with the 24 dual speed. Not sure anyone has regretted too many gears.

If I'm doing any bumping it's to something with a CVT like the M7 models. 😂

I got to learn about some of the cool features of the HST Plus when I delivered my friend's L47 to him. If you've never used an L60 tractor or anything with the HST plus, and not experienced the two ranges within each range, which can be selected with the flick of a lever, you don't know what you're missing (and perhaps that's a good thing). I like the MX with the standard HST, it's a great tractor, but using my friend's tractor I realized that the six ranges is a feature that I'd love to have in the MX and would use a lot. I'm not about to make a change, and it's not a life-changing difference, but I see that there's a better mousetrap.

The same is true for my M6060. It's a great tractor that I have no intention of selling, but I also recognize that six gears per range is better than four.

Bingo, and my experience with my M9960 is only one factor that resulted in my opinion.

I do not remember stating or impling that it was.
