gauge doesn’t come off zero
Is how I’m testing it fine? Or does it need to flow thru
That is correct - it must not go through.

But if you are getting zero pressure no way you are connected to the pump supply line There has to be some pressure coming from the pump else the loader and 3pt would be totally dead.

It was the hose connected to port labeled in
I understand that which leads me to suspect the loader valve may be hooked up backwards. Lets do this:

Take the gauge off the hose and put the hose in a bucket. Start tractor and check for oil coming from the hose. My guess is there wont be any.

could the valve go bad? Should I replace it? Everything is pointing to the pump
Yes the calve can go bad or get jammed open by dirt/sludge. It will act just like a bad pump. Befire I replaced anything I would remove the relief and look for damage or a stuvk poppet. If that loojs good I would do a direct pressure test on the pump but that rewuires more than just your gsuge.

What does the threaded portion on the valve do? Can you increase and decrease pressure with that and then tighten down the nut?
The threaded stud adjusts pressure but with zero pressure I would not ecpect much if any help. The range of that adjustment is probably a few hundred PSI.

If its the problem more likely its broken, leaking, or has something stuck under the seat. Take it out and inspect for damage or debris. Before doing any adjustment READ the WSM.

how do I know it’s bad just by looking at it ?
Just look for anything obvious. Junk in the orifices, cracks, broken spring, etc. Its quick. easy, and costs nothing - READ the WSM and look at the illustrations.

Maybe you will get lucky. If not you are no worse off than you are now.
