Punched one hole and set a post after work today. I’ll hang the 16’ gate tomorrow and set another two. Didn’t get as deep as I wanted to so I’ll set a post behind this one and brace it to prevent sag. The 2501 will push a 18” bit till you hit rock and really hard pack clay 34” down. 😬

That rock stuck on the bit looks like the same kind my son hits at his place!
What brand is your tooth bar on the bucket?
I keep thinking about getting one but stuck on the fence of if I need one and if it really works.

We have a lot of really hard rock. Don’t know what it’s called, but there is a quarry 8 miles away. It is used for driveways, concrete and asphalt mix.
Thata a BXpanded tooth bar. I’m pretty happy with it. I’ve only taken it off for snow removal.

Thanks for the info on the tooth bar. I bought their quick change for my BH77, I like that.
The rock I was referring to is the one that looks like a LITE can in a blue cozy.
my son's preferred beverage!

Mowed for the second time this year. This time was with the Kubota and Sweet Pea did a ride-along. The Ford handled the first mowing because I wasn't finished with the deck for the Kubota.

Time to get the Kubota airboat out and mow the swamp. Good timing as the sky’s just opened up again. Got my first mowing stick in too. Resident snapper out for a stroll

Planted a couple of azaleas wife bought yesterday. Wouldn’t have gone to the trouble to get the auger out for two shallow holes, but it was on the back of the tractor already so used the opportunity for a real test run. I used it a few days ago to plant 3 little trees but that was in the old garden plot and the PTO shaft wasn’t hooked to the stub on the tractor properly so it kept falling off every time I raised it. Got the PTO shaft connection sorted out and these holes were in dry red clay within spitting distance of a decent size pecan tree. I would consider this its first real test.

I’d say it was a success. Other than the “proof of concept” run in the garden, last time I ran this auger was at least 45 years ago. It’s still ugly and it still works. IMG_8400.jpeg

Took off the blower and moved a few things around the yard with the forks. We got some snow and freezing rain yesterday so no dirt work yet.

Unfortunately none of mine came out of the barn. However I did cheat on my girls…I feel dirty even typing about it😉...

A friend picked up a L3302 w/ manual transmission recently with about 100hrs on it and we went thru the manual and checked & lubed everything including wheel bolt torque, axle oil etc. (the wheel bolts needed torqued). I really like the standard Ls. It did not come with manuals, but the local dealer printed him the manuals and even bound them for him👍. My buddy is off to a great start.

I'm quite happy with mine. I'll take it off for moving mulch and the like, and of course for snow, but it stays on most of the time. But once you've done it a couple of times, it's nothing to pop it off or put it back on.

Just don't lose your bolts! I haven't done that... yet.

I oughta smack you with a zuchinni! You had me looking all up and down that auger for a rock to identify! :D
Well the placement in the pic I figured was done to draw attention to it!

I stocked my garage fridge for the first time of the season today with some in a blue rock from our Canadian friends!

I suggested to the wife that maybe we should do it that way. It didn't go over very well.

Mine didn't like the idea either.

Today was blower removal and grease day. On over Thanksgiving and off on Easter, seems about right.

FEL on next weekend, it was pouring today and I wasn't dealing with that.

It was a heck of a winter this year and I spent a LOT of time on this rig and both the blower and the rear blade got a workout.

Started the ice storm damage clean up today. 4 1/2 hours of solid grapple work is enough at one sitting for this old dog!
