Emma1414!
Hey. New here. I did search thinking it must have been covered before. I have an l2850 gst leaking from where the drive speed shifter mounts on the transmission side cover. I know that cover has to come off to replace the o rings inside. Any info on removing that case would be appreciated.

to get to that O ring set it's quite complicated and fair amount of work.
I will break it down later today on what you have to do.

Do you have the WSM (aka service manual)?

Pull all the parameter bolts, (yellow)
Pull the bolts on the 2 right valve bocks (green)
6 on top valve, 4 on bottom valve.

DO NOT remove the parts Red X'ed
DO not remove the pink snap ring untill you have the side cover off and on a bench.

Do not force the side cover off, if it's not coming off easy then there is probably still a bolts holding it on.
If you do not get the bolts out of the two rear valves the cover will only move about 1/2" then get stuck.

If you get stuck post a photo of where your at and some of us can help you.

Well I was going to give you a couple warnings on the assembly...but we went past that.
I'll cross my fingers and toes for you. 😁
