A big shout out to Daryl @Mountainman at Mossy Creek Outdoors. He's been very patient while I work out what bits I want to fix the damaged bits in the front right hub and bits to add hydraulic steering to my old B7200. The parts are now packed and ready to be shipped out tomorrow.

Apart from the help with the parts, I heard from Daryl today to say that he had refunded $100 into my PayPal account as the actual postage to Australia turned out to be less than he originally quoted. Can't ask for much more than that, and pretty sure that not everyone would do this.

Thanks so much Daryl.

After a quarantine inspection in Melbourne, all the parts arrived from Daryl @Mountainman at Mossy Creek Outdoors this afternoon. That's only about 8 days from dispatch in Alabama.

All the parts look great, even threw in some extra unexpected bits for the hydraulic steering mod - steering wheel, tie rod ends and cylinder mounting brackets.

Thanks so much for all of this Daryl @Mountainman.

Fitting the new bevel gear and stub axle to the front right will be straightforward.

I don't think it will be too difficult to mount the steering valve. But a bit more thought and chin scratching is needed to work out how to mount the steering cylinder, and the select and mount a pump for the hydraulic steering.

I'll try to cover (and photograph) these in other existing threads.

Yes, it's something that I hadn't even thought of. I didn't Google it until they were quarantined in Melbourne for inspection. A mandatory inspection makes sense, just glad they were clean enough and they let them through.

So I've been conceptualizing the same idea for a bit for my B7100HST.

My thinking is to mount the cylinder to a bracket that is bolted to the front differential. I have a rough sketch in CAD now. Basically you replace 3 or 4 of the bolts for the two differential halves with longer studs and bolt the cylinder using the stock RTV cylinder flanges. I haven't gotten my hands on the physical cylinder and tie rod assembly but that's how you keep the steering in line with the axle and let it work properly without worrying about articulation.

You can theoretically use the tractor hydraulics, but the RTV steering valve doesn't have the "E" port for power beyond so you'd remove the ability to use the 3-point. A GM Type-2 pump is very small and might work, but I have to do some CAD to see if it might fit where the stock belt tension idler pulley is on the D750.

You're a bit ahead of me by having physical parts to work with!

It's interesting that some of us are never happy with the tractor that we've got....me included, and we have to keep modifying it.

I reckon many others would be pretty interested to follow your project. Might be better to make it a new thread in the Fabrication and Customisation section so it doesn't get lost ?

I could always buy a new one, but then I would feel bad tinkering with it! 😂

Once I have something worth posting it'll get added!

Because of the incredibly narrow front axle on the B7100, your going to have a hard time finding a cylinder that has the right throw to length dimension.
