My L275DT runs great, but looks like it's halfway to the scrap heap. I plan on painting it at least, but the fenders are in bad shape, being pretty bent up and flexible. Any recommendations on making it more rigid before I paint it? I'll fix the bent over lip/flange that is supposed to give it some rigidity, but the metal is so thin that I'd still like more. It's thin enough that I'd be concerned about burning through if I try to weld on it.

thanks.

Check with Lance/ 007kubotaguy here. He has many parts for older Kubotas.

On my tractor they were in a similar condition with splits down the middle of each. Couldn't find replacements either.

I got them back into shape with a dead blow and some tweaking. Welded them back up with a mig welder. Also welded and built back up the thin and weak spots. Ground the welds flat and smooth. Then repainted them :D

I'm not a good welder, particularly with thin metal. I should take this as a goal to practice for. I'd imagine most people would say that welding is the best option.

If you can't find good used ones, any good bodyman can make them for you.
Yea i could make them I used to do work in a high end restoration (cars) shop, the ones i have I could probably cut out the bad, and patch in good, but it’s just a matter of how much time I want to put into them, where I figured if I found some used ones I’d still be ahead

hey lance
I was just wondering if you still have parts from the older L series specifically 275. This thread was along time ago not sure if you still check it.
Lance is still somewhat active but you can call his business at the number shown below

I was impressed with how fast the 'old guy' using an English Wheel, could make a fender one day ! It's a lost art, that ,well, sadly has died out.
