Looking more like March than January. The blower got abot 30 seconds of use so far this winter. Put the forks on for a delivery.
My Grand L has CAT 1 upper, and CAT 2 lowers ... I purposely Bought a CAT 1QH as have lots of CAT 1 attachments ... I wanted an adjustable hydraulic top link, in order to get the length I needed, I had to order a CAT 2 on both ends, so I used bushings to size it down ... Since the lower part of the QH needed CAT 1 pins to hook it to the tractor, I just used bushings to fit ...I got a Cat II QH because I have the LX2610SU because the geometry of the 3 point hitch on the LX is Cat II
two different styles. Why the two styles, is it a set, or just showing two different styles?
Just a quick update. After I work I went through it all with manual in hand to ensure I understood how it worked and tried it out for around 10 minutes. Driveway was pretty much clear so I was just taking probably 1/8 bites out of the edge. The chain slipped off the idler pulley as I was repositioning the machine, not even blowing snow. I checked the manual and followed the procedure, but I can’t even push the idler pulley down to seat it, the slot the bolt for the pulley/gear is way to narrow. I’m not real happy as I was going incredibly slow, probably 1mph at most taking super small bites, and like I said it didn’t even come off until I was just repositioning the tractor to turn around. I think the chain was lose from the start. Wouldn’t be a huge deal if I could adjust the idler pulley but I can’t, the slot is way too narrow. Going to call the dealership first thing in the morning to see if they can send someone out to see why it’s not working correctly.Which model did you purchase? Keep us posted how happy you are with it after a good snowfall.
Any chance the chain should be on the other side of the pulley?Just a quick update. That was my thought too but it runs under the idler pulley according to the manual. In the screenshot I posted the bolt - part 2 figure 4-8 -(even when loosened) cannot move up or down at all.Any chance the chain should be on the other side of the pulley?
Another morning of snow removal. Snowblower time. I'm stubborn or stupid. Once again I tried making the first run downhill to the township road using the FEL bucket as a snow pusher. Plan was as in the past with the NH to create two banks and then snowblow them into the woods. Again. Didn't go well. Never made it around the first curve. Chains of rear. Naked R4s on the front. Zilch for steering. Need chains on the front. Eventually plan to add a set of 2-link ladders with V barbs to the front.
Cold front is supposedly moving in. Forecast was for a trace of snowfall. We have been stuck at around 10F for the past 72hrs from the previous cold front that blew in Tuesday. Awoke to +7 inches of L. Effect powder and 24F air temps. Up to 30F right now. But the minimal breeze has shifted from ESE to N. I think the cold front is approaching.
I hope the dealership can fix your problem and keep you a happy customer.Just a quick update. Thank you appreciate it. The service guy I spoke to at the dealership asked me to send him some pictures as we are trying to see what went wrong. After a lot of back and forth he noticed the shaft that goes from the gearbox to the first sprocket moved a lot. There’s these Allen set screws that are supposed to be tightened so it can’t move. He believes it wasn’t tightened from the factory as the chain assempbly is mounted there. You can actually see where they lightly scratched the surface as they were not tightened enough. I was able to hammer it back and retighten the set screws which then aligned the idler pulley/gear. I have a few pictures of what it looked like beforehand. He said they will absolutely have someone come out Monday no questions asked if it’s giving me issues or falls off again, the idler pulley bolt is still insanely tight even after sanding and scraping so I may shoot him a text as they may be an issue going forward.I hope the dealership can fix your problem and keep you a happy customer.
Keep us posted.
Blower goes on sometimes before the first snowfall. Winter of '23 or '24 it sat on the pallet for the whole season. A first after a couple decades of use. Use to be seasonal snowfall of less than 17 feet was a bad year. For the past decade plus that is now a good year. So far, a bit over 69" this season. Too many thaws and frizzle, drizzle days keeps the snowpack and snowbanks low. But not low enough banks to make using a blade and bucket practical.View attachment 168353
Put the blower on before the snow season while it's still somewhat warm out because then Mother Nature will spite you with little and often no snow.
Dang ..... Good to hear it is getting figured out and will be fixed right.Thank you appreciate it. I'd either bungee the extra end links if it was only 2 or less links, or get a set of 24" or longer bolt cutters to snip the extra off ...Tirechaindotcom 18-8.5-10 2-link ladder with V barbs reviews note multiple times needing to be shorten to fit
Or an angle grinder.I'd either bungee the extra end links if it was only 2 or less links, or get a set of 24" or longer bolt cutters to snip the extra off ...
I hope you sent Bezos the bill.Today (just now) I pulled an Amazon van out of the ditch. First, for this season

Nice building! Shouldn't that snow blower be on your tractor?View attachment 168371
moved all my 3 point attachments into the new pole barn. 60x96 14foot ceiling. they are going to sit there until i get pallet racking and some dollies made. also it is hay storage metal and wood working areas in the front. just waiting on the roll up doors which should be next week. and adding electric in spring when the ground is thawed for trenching easier
attachments resting on 6x4x3/4 stall matts which will be used in the horse stalls later in summer as i organize thinhs better
that’s gonna be sweet! Gonna need to get more implements to fill in the space!View attachment 168371
