I know early s/n won't give a year of production, but was wondering what expected number range might be. Mine is B6000-67920. Also curious as to years Kobota was located in Compton CA.
Interesting, just purchased and previous owner said it was grey market, but all decals are in English and the Compton Cal label tells me it was sold new in US. Not that it matters, but plan on refurbishing and keeping it alive for the next caretaker in the future.Kobota was never anywhere in the US !
Kubota on the other hand set up shop at 300 w Carob St, Compton, CA in 1972 with 18 employees.
The B6000, 1974 to 1977 were the years built.
It's not grey market, but it is different; the PTO turns opposite to all others. And the splines may be non-standard.Interesting, just purchased and previous owner said it was grey market, but all decals are in English and the Compton Cal label tells me it was sold new in US. The B6000 is one of the oddities, the units can be grey or not grey.Interesting, just purchased and previous owner said it was grey market, but all decals are in English and the Compton Cal label tells me it was sold new in US. Thank you! Knew the PTO runs in reverse, came with tiller, but haven't tried it yet.The B6000 is one of the oddities, the units can be grey or not grey.
I ran your serial number and it's not a Grey.
And like @PoTreeBoy said the PTO on a B6000 turns the opposite direction and has a non standard size and spline count.
