Correct Hydrasulic pressure for BX 2360? How much is too much?

I checked the pressure on my hydraulic system, reading was 1500. I added a shim to the pressure relief spring, and brought the pressure up to about 1650. When I pulled out of the barn, at anything over idle speed, the tractor stalls when I step on the forward or reverse pedal. Can too much Pressure cause that?

No, a bump of 150 PSI will not cause stalling, nor would a bump of 1000 PSI. This is of course assuming you set the main PRV, and nothing on the hydrostat.
I followed the instructions on the kit I bought, taking out the PRV located to the left of the rear power take off. Everything seemed as described in the instruction, but i know i did something wrong as nothing else was serviced. It also stalls when I try to engage the PTO. Any help from your experience is appreciated.

You bumped the relief pressure. Unless you completely jammed the valve, when pulling out of the barn hydraulic pressure is still close to zero.

Check if the dead man switch in the seat is loose or a wire broken.

If your butt isn't in the seat and the PTO or hydrostatic forward/reverse engaged the engine will die, which almost sounds like your situation, but you're able to move the tractor at idle under its own power, so it sounds more like a possible lose seat switch connection.

Thank you for the input. It was in fact a broken plug in the dead man circuit that just decided to separate while I had the tractor apart for other repairs. Pulled it tight with a zip tie, problem solved. Much appreciated info.
