I am financing an L3092 and I need to get insurance. I have a quote from Kubota and another quote from Traveler's via my insurance company (USAA). The one from Travel's is about half the cost of the Kubota one. Is there any reason I should be considering spending a lot more for insurance from Kubota?

I did not have any additional cost, my homeowners property automatically covers it.
All I had to do is get a rider on my policy that Kubota is the payee.

Tractor and implements are covered under the home owner insurance. The fine print. Limited to operating on my property. Unsure when on the trailer if needing to transport.

Yes, that's a common exclusion for homeowner's policies.

Don't hold me to it, but I think if on a trailer, it would fall to the automobile policy of the tow vehicle (?)

I have my tractor covered on my homeowner's also. I routinely do some work for neighbors, but it's limited to mowing or snowblower work if they need help.

I take the risk knowingly, but it's a low risk.

I will bet your home owners does not cover loss from something like a rollover. KTAC does.

Yes - - Dan brings up a great point.

I had KTAC while I had a loan on the tractor (2 years, so went away 10 years ago).

Pretty much (supposedly) covers a lot of damage irrespective of the cause or its location.

It was pricey, but coverage was very comprehensive.

From all the posts I've read over the years, it looks like "regular" insurance covers accidents and Kubota extends the coverage to include stupidity.

My homeowners covers the contents of my shop so if I accidentally set it on fire and the tractori is inside the tractor would be coverd as would be my truck or cars.

If i accidentally release the parking brake on my tractor, truck, or cars and they roll down the hill and into the woods none of them is coverd

Both events are stupid accidents but homeoners only covers one. Thats why I have additional casualty loss insurance on tractor, truck, and cars.

Insurance can be tricky. It's best to spend some quality time with an agent. I have an additional policy for the Kubota. Such things as what horsepower the tractor has, who operates it, on your own property, other's property, public roads, if you receive payment, etc all affect the coverage. Until getting into the details, I kept one tractor at the church for another volunteer operator.

I have the KTAC insurance, for 2 reasons. (you can decide which one was/is the most likely cause)

1. As @TheOldHokie stated, there are things that it covers, that "regular insurance" won't.

2. My lazy/forgetful ass simply forgot to secure insurance when I went to pick it up, and when I was standing there drooling, because I was so excited, I would have f'ing signed a paper admitting to shooting JFK, in order to take it home that day.

Where's Waldo?

The last time I bought a car from a dealership it was worse than when I closed on the mortgage on my house. I've never signed so many documents I hadn't read in my life. the finance manager had a smart desk that the top was a huge touch pad. He would fill in blanks and spin it around so we could read it and sign with our finger. After an hour or so of that he handed me a thumb drive. After going through all of it at home I found he hadn't attached the included lifetime warranty promised so I got him t email it to me. It was signed by both of us and he just hadn't put it on the drive. I even called the company that it was written through to confirm it was legit and we were on file.

That was the way it was for me also. Pretty cool IMHO. No paper, clutter, writers cramp.
