Where to add Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid on BX1500

I am trying to find where I add Hydraulic Fluid on my BX1500. I have found the dipstick to check it but can not seem to locate the cap to add more fluid. I have seen videos which all show other BX models, but the 1500 does not seem to be in the same location. I have also looked in my user manual and this shows how to drain it, check it, change filter, but it does not show where to add it.

Use a long narrow funnel, add it into the same hole the dip stick goes in. Clean around the hole before taking the dip stick out. May have to go slow, give it time, so it doesn't spill over while adding.

Check at the back of the tractor, near the dip stick...should be an orange cap about 3" diameter. Screw that out to fill. And, yes...use a long neck funnel, preferably one that will bend and has a filter in it.

I don't have a BX1500 but I would think most BX's will be similar.

Nope - my BX1880 does not have a separate cap for filling (you made goes out and look :ROFLMAO:)

Here's a picture of a BX1500. You can see the orange dipstick under the top link.

OK, I stand corrected! Sorry I made you look. :) The dipstick must be attached to the fill cap? The dipstick opening for my BX23D would never tolerate being used to fill the reservoir. It's enough of a pain to use the larger fill opening.

Lets not compare a BX1880 to a BX1500, they are completely different!

It is I who stand corrected after all!
I will reduce my enthusiasm to reply and give NIWolfman a break. :censored: LOL

I stand corrected. Awful place to put a fill port I must say.

Not to highjack the thread but is the BX1880 the only model with an oil inlet/dipstick combination (that's what the manual calls it anyways)?

I think so, it's not a common feature.
But Kubota throws a twist at us all the time.

I will tell you keep an eye on that cap as they are know for walking off / Popping out and causing issues.

They started using the "oil inlet/dipstick combination" on the BX50 series.

Excellent advice. I went right out and put zip ties through the finger loop in the dip stick and a convenient nearby hole in the frame. Long enough to still check the dip stick for fluid level but not in the way of any moving parts. Once of prevention. Thanks!
