I've got a WR Long third function that controls the lid on my grapple. It is about ten years old. Last week it suddenly stopped working, no click when I press up and down. Aha, I thought, I know what this is because about five years ago the switch went out. I ordered a new switch, which came today, put it in but no joy. I'm seeing 12V at the center contact and it drops way down when I press either direction, but still no clicking. I've exhausted my debug knowledge. What else can I try?

If you're losing your voltage, then check the connection at the point where the power is coming from. Whether that be directly from the battery or fuse box.

If the power is fused (which it should be), make sure you take a good look at it. I've seen some break just enough to feed power until a load was introduced.

I got WR Long support on the phone (real human, very helpful) and they told me how to remove the solenoids so I could check what voltage they are getting. Both of mine get 12V in either switch position, should only be one or the other. Ordered a new solenoid control module.
