“Step one, rescue vintage worn out rasp_Step two, twist one end up a bit so you can hold onto it_ (Over the horn, using tongs and a vise will make things harder)_Step 3, flatten handle out in relation to the blade and hammer the handle until it."
I'm surprised you got so bent out of shape. I saw the item on a forum and copied and pasted it because it was interesting. I have a bucket of horse shoes and rasps a thought that might be an interesting project. I also thought others might be interested. I have no idea how long it's been "floating around", I've never seen it before. I post things I find interesting thinking others may have a similar interest. If your offended by things I post block me.This image has been floating around for quite a few years. With the scourge of social media and the obsession for likes and followers, people will post this stuff without any credit given to the person that actually did the work.
There are some members on this forum who seem to be focused on getting people to watch their videos and subscribe to their YouTube channel. They should be paying vendors as far as I'm concerned since they're trying to sell something.
It WILL cut!Has Doug Marcaida tested / judged it?
I needed a shim for a car rear axle, found that out Saturday afternoon (as usual) and wanted the job done. Grabbed a magnet, hopped into my car and drove to the filling station, tried all drink cans until I found a coke can made of steel (most were aluminium, maybe today all of them), bought it, drank it, cut it open, beautiful 0.1mm (0.004") material, cut the shim, assembled the axle, still runs todayI've made shims from beer cans. I'd post the pictures but they are inverted and upside down.

Just made these, I enjoy making knives and other things from railroad spikes to give as gifts, these are steak hooks, for turning your steak on the grill, left and right hand ones. My work is still a bit crude.
Man, we must have been twins separated at birth. Those are pretty cool.
I would love to start making/forging knives, but alas, my "hobbies list" is fast approaching "Critical Mass".
I need another hobby, like I need another hole in my head.
(But I would be the first guy on my block to have a "forge" in his basement......)
I have serious hobby problems too, my garage is so full of projects, hobbies it will be easier to build another one instead of cleaning/making room in the current one. Those are pretty cool.
