Just getting acquainted with the BX. The feel for the 3 pt is "different" than OldBlue. Need to set the speed low to develop a better touch. At least on day 2 my brain has adapted to the opposite direction of the throttle lever and brake on the opposite side. Ground is a bit on the soft side. Spring and a heavy rainfall couple nights ago. Bit of practice with the box scraper filling in the depression the resulted from soil settling after removing a stump last summer. Practice using the grapple claw moving couple small piles of branches into one.

Original plan was to mount the Heavy Hitch 2" receiver onto the trailer hitch platform. Someone in Georgia I think over torqued the four bolts holding the factor ball mount plate. 3/4" nuts. Tried removing using a 1/2" ratchet wrench. No go. Moved up to the 18" adjustable (aka Crescent) wrench. No go. Sure hope they are not left hand threaded?
I do not believe they are left thread. Can you see any thread at all?

Had a break in the rain so I got the b1700 airboat out and beat the grass into submission . Great excuse to burn one as well

Ok, the point of today's project was to see if it was going to be feasible to transplant some trees.

Well, it worked for the first one so I think I'll be fine to do the rest. Nothing special other than they're about 6' and will be used for rear property line filler and eventually, a view block

These little tractors (mine included) will spin a front auger? I thought they needed more flow.

It's a Landpride SA10. I think the LX has 6-7gpg. It's no speed demon with so I pre-drlled with the 9" first. We have decent soil and no rock so the 24" wasn't too bad but if it was dry or rocky soil I'd say you would be SOL.

It took a 24" breaker bar to get those loose on my 2380. Heavy-handed assembly techs, and a heavy coat of paint...

So I'm not the only one struggling with the nuts.
Going to try a few hits with the dead blow hammer.
Ran out of time today to give it a go.

Level out the box scraper relative to the tractor. Little bit more practice on an area that if trashed I can smooth out any time later. Then.... QH05 quick hitch set up. Backed up and the plan was to detach the box scraper and deal with the nuts. 3Pt would not drop after the box scraper was resting on the garage floor. ????. Clueless for awhile. Similar to when I unloaded the snowblower. Ended up setting the blower down on blocks. Still required me to get off the tractor and wiggle the blower. Noticed that the top hook was biased toward the front. Adjusted the top link to "center' the bushing in the hook. It released. Touchy. Unsure if normal or maybe the forging of the QH top hook is a bit off.

Learning something new about the BX everyday.

Ok. Moved some more hay for the neighbors horses and popped the same OPC fuse 2 or 3 times. I got towed home again by Bob (the bobcat UTV). :(

Called the only Kubota dealer open today it seems and the had the HST safety switch in stock. My lovely wife picked it up for me and I installed it. Working fine so far.

2 observations:

1) they really suck to get at with the backhoe frame in the way. I can see it being a 2 minute job if one doesn't have the backhoe frame

2) I "bench tested" the old switch and seemed to work just fine on the workbench measuring continuity.

I don't get it. The tractor has been fine this week doing other duties, it would seem that it just doesn't like the horse pasture. Granted, the pasture is a very bumpy ride, but that would be the only difference in operation. I typically run mid rpms, in either high or medium range. It's slow going in that pasture but it was conking out as soon as I depressed the treadle. There must be something broken inside that is affected when the ride is bumpy. I don't know. 🤷‍♂️

It is well possible that the switch (or the control lever) had wear and possibly needed adjustment. Otherwise it was only borderline open/closed and vibrations could then cause malfunction.

I repaired one of those safety switches that had failed completely: Link safety switch repair.

Did an engine oil change and 100 hr check-up/grease on the L3010 with 1900 hrs. Checked the fan belt and it felt like dry rot. Seemed to happen suddenly - was fine last time. So I ordered a new belt. I changed the front axle oil (80-90 gear oil) at 1800 hrs and checked that. It was almost a quart low so topped that off. None leaking externally so hopefully it just took time to settle which I have seen before.

Finished up a little grading of the millings that went down yesterday. Found what I assume are some milling machine teeth, a adjustable wrench on a rope (?!?) and what I hope is an animal bone. 😄
Let me tell you, that Kubota SVL makes utility tractors look like Tonka toys!

I guess the loose end of the rope came untied. I found an adjustable wrench in the belly pan of a dozer once. With some tlc it came back to life, and has been a good wrench for years.

Well I have had my RTVX-1100 for a few weeks now and have been itching to use it every time I go outside, but my yard stays pretty wet with all the rain we have been having.

But I have tried to take advantage of the sunny times also. I have used it to move loads of firewood and the last two days moving loads of patio pavers. Sure beats pushing a wheelbarrow.

Its only my unscientific opinion but I feel I can get a bigger load of split firewood into the bed of the side by side than I can into the bucket of my tractor. Less trips and less damage to the lawn.

I purchased a receiver extension for the rear since it is recessed a good bit and now I can take the log splitter to the wood instead of having to load the bucket and take that to the splitter, unload, split and then reload the bucket and take to the stack and then unload and stack. Yeah this is easier.

I am glad winter is gone but I am looking forward to trying the snow plow out. I am confident it will be nicer to push the snow forward than clearing it with the back blade on an open station. I have a piece of plastic from a plastic pallet that I took apart and need to put that as my cutting edge so as to be gentle on the cement.

One of these days I also hope to install a strobe light on the cab and will probably be back asking for the best way to do that.

Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend.

I purchased a magnetic mount light, then used rtv to glue a piece of 1/8 metal to the roof. this way I can use it on the rtv and the tractor. It just plugs into the power socket.

For a ball hitch, I made a slightly longer one from 2x2 tubing. I also installed a after market receiver where the winch goes. So I don't have to struggle to install a hitch on the front.

I finally found a use for eight old tires that have been laying around for a few years. I was going to weld up a stand for the PHD this morning, but as I was looking for suitable material and thinking about how I would make a stand out of steel, I had the idea to repurpose the tires for now.

I filled up the MX this morning and have started to keep photographic records of when I fill up. 11.8 hours of some fairly serious use on the last tank (holds 11.9 gallons) which included loader, box blade and grading scraper work. I could have run the tractor for another 30 minutes at least, but close to 1 gallon/hour.
