Scam. I’ve seen it dozens of times with slight variations. If you are worried, call your bank or financial institution and ask them to go over all charges. If it is real and you didn’t do it, dispute and start fraud process. Under no circumstances click any links in that message, download or open any attachments or call the number.

The other big one right now is for outstanding tolls. Usually $4-7 bucks and a big fine for not paying. I get at least three toll scams a day and probably 6-8 fraudulent purchase scams a week. I’m popular with the wrong crowd.

In recent months, I've been getting similar emails for PayPal receipts, Best Buy Geek Squad subscriptions, iPhone purchase receipts, etc. All scams.

Scam, I get them daily on my work account and I just delete and move on. If you call them they will try to get your personal info and take any and everything they can get from you.

Skeets - - notice the person to email is from XXXX(at)fairpoint.com - - not xxxx.ebay.com...... not even from eBay.

I get that kind of crap all the time. Tolls, Walmart purchases, PayPal, Charter Communications can't process my electronic bill-pay (I pay by check), etc., etc.

Some are $700+

Just delete them. Scammers......

Not that long ago that would have been wire fraud, a Federal crime resulting in stiff fine and time in jail. Everyone knows who federal authorities spend all their time investigating now days.

When you get a questionable email check the message header and find the senders email address.

If you get an email indicating you have something needing attention supposively from Ebay, Amazon, PayPal just open a window and go to that site and see if THEY indicate a problem. If none. it's spam.

got a call from "Lenny" from Medicare the other day, asking if I'd received my new card. OK. She asked if the bottom stripe on the card was red. Yes. Top stripe blue? Yes. Is your name correct on the card? Yes. Can you tell me the number on the card? NO. Why? This is a secure line and it's being recorded! I told her I didn't care, and if she'd ever heard of Medicare fraud. I was told to do something anatomically impossible and she hung up.
