Why would a government be concerned with depreciation? If their equipment is doing the job shouldn't they use it till no longer works? Sorry, that would be common sense.
budgeting, and wear and tear as I'm told.
that whole budgeting thing can be a thorn in the side for some, for others it can be great
my brother worked for the city for a while. It's astounding the amounts of money that are "thrown around", and it's also shocking what (and who) gets what. Just an example, his dept was top notch as far as productivity, the city had a surplus and everyone got a bonus....among other things...they all went to the beach. The whole dept except my brother, who didn't get that invite. He ain't much of a beach person anyway so it was fine. but it rubbed him wrong that he didn't get that incentive that everyone else got. Ironically he was one of the two that didn't much get along with teh director of the dept who was glorified by many in the city, but those people didn't know what was going on. Had no clue! Just a small hint, she was a thief and was caught red-handed, but it was covered up, and they did a great job of that cover up.
