I've seen a lot of fuel filter mods, here's mine. I decided to mount the Kubota 15521-43018 filter housing behind the loader frame. The bottom of the filter housing is above the loader frame, so it should be well protected. The worst part of the install was removing the filter between the tank and the pump!

Looks good, but I'd still make some kind of shield. Thin metal under the unit and use a couple of the bolts showing in the first picture. That would deflect sticks from coming up and slapping it off the mount, and stranding you.

Thanks. I may do that in the future. My mower is on most of the time, but it only takes that one time.

The NH has a very similar looking fuel filter housing. Easy to reach for filter change, protected location, filters the fuel before it reaches anything downline. BX is waiting at the dealership for the skid plates, but I now have the user manual. Assuming the filter between the fuel tank and fuel pump is to protect the pump? In your image you removed it?

On the NH since day 1 back in '01 I have been using a specialized fuel funnel filter. Initially marketed to small private airplane owners to filter out particulates and moisture. I remember it being a bit pricey. But it has been very effective. Or just blessed with high quality diesel? Times I have changed the filter I scratch my head thinking maybe not the next scheduled change?

Just google search. Looks like the McFarlane Aviation F3C - Fuel Filter Funnel, 3.5gal/minute. Maybe something to consider if no filter between your fuel pump and fuel tank.

Yes, this filter replaces the factory filter between the tank and the lift pump. From what I understand, the primary filter protects the lift pump, and the secondary filter protects the high pressure pump, for example, if the lift pump fails. I still have 2 filters, but both will be quick and easy to replace now. I'll have to look for that funnel. Thanks for the suggestion. I've been using a Mr. Funnel. I've got a "coffee strainer" in my fuel tank (which has trapped debris). I'm picky about where I buy my fuel. So far I've not had any fuel issues, I think because of my methods.
