I have a 2015 M7060 with about 1100 hours on it. Here lately I have been having to drain the water fuel separator very often. I thought it might be my diesel holding tank, but I filled a quart canning jar with it and no water separated. just to be sure I went ahead and completely drained my fuel tank. I was pretty amazed that I had almost 5 gallons of water in the tank. So I bought diesel from the filling station rather than fill from my holding tank just in case. Before even running a full tank from the filling station through, I have drained off another almost 2 gallons of water. So it is getting into the tank via condensation I think...it has been very humid here lately. I have what looks like two fuel vent hoses coming up by the filling neck to the tank. One connects into the top of the filling neck just below the fuel cap and the other connects to a U vent that is fastened into the frame.
I took the one off that connects to the fuel tank neck and it did appear to have some blockage, I blew through it and it was momentarily blocked then released. The air came out where I removed the line from.
The second vent line that is connected to the U metal tube seems to be just one way...I just blew into it as I did not want to use the air hose and cause damage. It took some air then blew it back to me...kinda like blowing up a balloon and letting the air back out.
Anyway, just trying to figure out this water problem and a mechanic friend suggested I check the fuel vent lines.
