Tractor is a B2650 w/cab. I bought a 50" offset flail mower. I'm hooking up the Hydraulic lines to operate it to the bucket Hydraulic line fittings. To lift the flail vertically, I hooked it up to the up down of bucket, works fine. I hook the in/out of the flail mower to the bucket rotation, load, unload. If I push Hydraulic lever away from driver seat the flail mower moves in, if I pull lever towards seat it moves out. Seams to be backwards functioning. If I reverse the lines the flail only comes in, it will not move out. How do I fix so the Hydraulic pushes flail out when lever is moved outward.

Your bucket spool is regenetative - thats not "fixable". Ignore your intuition and hook it up the way it works.

Reversing the cylinder orientation gets him the desired directoin of control if the mower will operate with the reduced force in that reversed direction.

Dan
Your saying to swap ends of the Hydraulic cylinder, then left would be in and right would be out.

You sure the valve on his tractor is four position?

Dan
He said B2650 with cab which is what I have and that's from the B2650 manual.

It's the same issue where people who install snow blowers with the hydraulic chute controls and can't figure out why the chute goes one way but not the other. Need to push the control past the detent.

This is what my tractor manual shows. When I hook it back up I'll try the R2 position. Wonder if that is a fast out or adjustable slow to fast like the other positions. Thanks for the help.
R1 is metered flow fast extend using regeneration to dump the bucket.

R2 is non-regenerative for more force but at slower speed. I doubt it can be metered.

Could he install an orifice or metering valve at the implement ends to slow down the operation if it is too fast?

The Kubota valve starts in regenerative mode which can be metered to full open. When you go past the detent at full flow the rod end flow is shut off and you are at full flow on the base end. If you put a restrictor on the lines you slow everything down and effectively lose the advantage of the regenerativr portion of the spool.

IMO a better design is to make the imitial part of the spool non-regenerative with metering and put fast extend at the end of the stroke. Thats how the Brand valve I have here on the bench works.

That is why I was thinking that the orifice or valve would be installed on the implement end of the line - actually as part of the implement so they are removed with the implement.

I have to assume that the hoses for the FEL are removed at the valve end and longer hoses that reach the rear implement.

In reality I think that installing a rear remote valve set would probably be the best option but may also be the most expensive.

I umderstopd the lication. My point is its gping to slow thimgs way down whem he probably wants full speed.

Being able to move the flail in and out was my biggest reason of purchasing this unite. It makes mowing around trees and fence post a lot easier. I Like the idea of another valve set but really no convenient place to mount it in the cab. I could hook one up to the backhoe Hydraulic line when needed.
